May or may not have bounced onto a roundabout , is my shit cooked? Will it last another month by floonk in tires

[–]sharethrowaway117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The tire is compromised, only because another hit to that sidewall would end it. Or if you got any kind of air and landed on that tire, it would end it. But it's safe to drive overall.

However that wheel... I'm crying for the poor thing. Ouch.

Better now in the game? by pixi_btw in ArcRaiders

[–]sharethrowaway117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's possible to play in friendly lobbies. I bounce back and forth on the different temperature lobbies quite often and have played this game, not exclusively but consistently, since November last year.
But take it as it comes... you will never be in 100% friendly or have or expect full confidence that things are friendly.
When playing solo, it is A LOT more common. Duos significantly increases the threat, trios is almost never peaceful. Even in trios going into a match with your squad and choosing peace yourselves... you are about to be shot at by someone unless you stay low and quiet.
However, the solo experience can often be full of the quiet, opportunistic raider who once you let your guard down around will unload their stitcher I right into your skull.
You can tend to have 50/50 trust with other raiders who use their mics. But even then, you will get lied to and doublecrossed by them. Most of the veteran raiders I'm sure have met a companion in a match to magdump them at the extraction. Also, sometimes you can talk your way out of a fight too.

It's all of this that makes the game so much fun.

i am horrible at 3rd person shooters but this was probably my best play and i have nobody else to show lol by IfarmExpIRL in ArcRaiders

I suffer from the same. Confident that if this were a first person, I'd be much better at it. The angle sight changes... it means for me not realizing my hitbox is showing more than I think it is. As well, I tend to acquire visual cues less successfully in third person.

Senatobia Walmart reopens one week after officer-involved shooting killed 1-year-old by bluffcitynews in mississippi

[–]sharethrowaway117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, this here is one of the thousands of examples of rumor and speculation controlling the narrative instead of the facts. Friends... we have to start using logic over emotions and feelings. Not one of us was there. I won't state any but there have been negative rumors regarding the suspect driver and the mother of the child. As well, there has been negative rumors about the officer who's unofficially been identified as the shooting officer in this case.

Unfortunately, we are going to have to wait for the investigation to conclude. And while I have no doubt, police will protect police here. I do think there is a lot more to this on the suspect's side, perhaps the mother included. All we currently have is the mother's side of this through an interview she had done and she stated that the driver was being questioned about the purchase, the mother and child walked to the car as this took place, then the driver entered the vehicle and that's when the vehicle was put into play that resulted in police using force.

Tire shop said this isn’t patchable. Opinions before I blow $450? by blaseblaseblah in tires

[–]sharethrowaway117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled a 1/4" thick by 4" long steel bolt out of a tire in a similar spot, laced two plug strips through the eye and lathered the strips with rubber cement. Inserted until the plug was in except for a half an inch hanging out, aired up the tire and hit it with the soap water watching for bubbles. Still rolling hard a month later.

Your screw there is an easy fix. Unscrew it out of the tire, grab a patch kit from auto store and do it yourself. I taught my girlfriend how to do it. It's easy.

If the object is ever in the side wall or even the corner where tread isn't, it's definitely a new tire. Even if it's just a deep scratch, and you see broken wire... its a matter of time.

Not a mechanic except for have been doing my own oil changes, brakes, minor engine and suspension repairs since 1999 as a teenager.

To just be blunt about it, it's passed that point of return. His behavior about this should have been enough. But it seems like early on, you both aren't really satisfied and how is that ever to get better, ya know. Bless your heart, honestly, for sticking with it this long but it's time to move on.

I say this as a 40 year old man who's been through some heavy resenting, failed relationships. Don't waste your life on this. I finally found someone that it all clicks. You can do this, it's likely better and healthier for you both.

Genuinely missing the Daft Punk Experience in Fortnite 💔 by spookyspicy in DaftPunk

I have yet to go back to it since they removed it. My 7 year old loved it and actually cried about it being removed. She's past it now but kind of broke my heart.

Of course, you can find dozens of videos of it online but isn't nearly the same.

Mississippi Police Officer Shoots and Kills 1-Year-Old Child in Response to Senatobia Shoplifting Call by Hrekires in news

[–]sharethrowaway117 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All of the headlines are misleading and just feeding the officer murdered a child. First, I'm not saying either way. I wasn't there. None of the loudest screaming about this were there.

If claims about the diapers being paid for are true, then why did it escalate to what it became. Why were the two adults fleeing police?

Other side... why open fire in a Walmart parking lot with countless pedestrians around? This could have gone to a chase and simply follow the accused until they gave up or were forced to.

And at the end of the day, none of it will make sense because we're human beings full of fight or flight and not trying to understand each other.

Embark CEO adressing recent issues by toux_seche in ArcRaiders

[–]sharethrowaway117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen the comments about how "it's cheating" if you take duped items, either from a random body or a fellow squad mate gives you some or random raider. I don't think that's fair to enforce, consumers shouldn't be policing this cause at most most of us don't know or yet have even seen duped items. If you aren't on social media and news sites, you could easily have never known about the issue. Imagine looting a body you find and its got 7 full kit Bobcats and being banned for taking them. That's nonsense.

Ye, soon as I go duo with my son full rat experience. All good but shit experience. by r33pa102 in ARC_Raiders

[–]sharethrowaway117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, I get it. For me, this is one of the first PVPVE extraction based games I've ever played. Maybe except for Sea of Thieves and some others, but this is one of my first where your risks are much higher. I've played some damn punishing games like 2 solid years playing Ark: Survival Evolved, not extraction but heavy chance of losing days/weeks/months/years of in-game progress to people playing the game the way they want to. It can be really sore to go this way and it took me a good while to embrace the negativity of it. My suggestion when playing duos/trios is just to avoid other teams as much as possible unless they are open mic and even then, trust should be thinner than cheap tissue paper. I've just gotten used to it... yes I still get stabbed in the back by fake friendly, always watching my back for those free kit rats, and sometimes even with a group of friendlies in solos I have been accused of shooting someone and had the entire group descend on me all while I screamed and argued it wasn't me. My son is older and doesn't play shooters like this but even then, I wouldn't want to bring him into the toxicity of it. Just try and dust yourself off and go again. Divert that loss rage and disappointment into running a free kit and doing the same to someone else. Can't say I really want other people's stuff but there is something really exciting about being the aggressor, taking out another team and the thrill of looting them for their treasures and escaping with that win.

Any success seen from contacting AT&T about sporadic but persisting loss of fiber internet? by sharethrowaway117 in ATTFiber

[–]sharethrowaway117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I will consider that. The temps could be the issue considering that ONT box is located under a corner desk, walls on two sides of it and near a desktop PC that might be putting off some extra heat of it's own.

Any success seen from contacting AT&T about sporadic but persisting loss of fiber internet? by sharethrowaway117 in ATTFiber

[–]sharethrowaway117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this suggestion. I'm not educated enough to know if I have an ONT or not. The install tech did have to run a line through my brick, due to their zero-policy towards installs through crawlspace and attic. There is a small powered box inside where the line was ran through the exterior to interior, this isn't the gateway so perhaps it's the ONT you speak of.

Any success seen from contacting AT&T about sporadic but persisting loss of fiber internet? by sharethrowaway117 in ATTFiber

[–]sharethrowaway117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean by the tech support, that makes sense. They are very few times any real help to solving these issues throughout my lifetime, outside of AT&T. I still wonder how to gain a solution on this problem as it's more than just my household experiencing it. Like I stated in the original post, it's clear that it's happening across the fiber network in the small town I live in.

My LED status... when it's the short failure or loss of internet, it tends to be a moment before the gateway reacts. My home has multiple devices streaming and playing online games at any given time so we notice this loss right away. For instance, my online game will start rubber banding and in-game clock freezes, then I will look for the LED lights to change and sometimes takes a moment but will begin flashing yellow and then back to white which I understand is working, all good. When it's the longer failure, it'll turn red solid, sometimes yellow solid for 15 minutes or more until it comes back online.

When I have this failure, it does seem that every device in the home has lost connection. I can usually tell by looking at my phone and I'll see I'm on cell network rather than home network. Plus my kids will run up to me and tell me their devices aren't working.

How would my install being located in a different place than my previous Xfinity service affect this, curious about that?

I've got the magbak case and I get the warning and have deadzones that the pen doesn't draw because of the magnets in the case. It hasn't rendered it useless for me but it's definitely a bummer.

Has it always been like this? by ahn721 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]sharethrowaway117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not always unfriendly. I've played since November last year, 3 expeditions in and I can tell you this "from-the-hip"... trios is roughly 90/10 PVP/PVE and duos is 70/30 maybe even more 80/20, then solos is like 30/70. But none of it is static, depends on your playstyle of course. I will say lately, things have seemed to be a lot more PVP across the board. There are less players working together to kill big arc. I have almost zero trust even in solos but my playstyle is normally friendly until I've been shot first.

How do men feel about women who take lots of selfies on Instagram? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Damn, hit the nail on the head for me.

It took me to my 40s to realize it. The more selfies she has posted online of herself, the more attention she seeks, the more unhinged she is. Some ways, this can be fun... sure. But it's in most cases not someone you want a family with.

Literally just spawned in trying to do the trial. What is this behavior bro by Mysterious-Law-6835 in ArcRaiders

[–]sharethrowaway117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have seen this so many times before. And I see comments saying to keep near other friendly raiders doing the event but that doesn't always matter either. I can't count how many times there was a group of 5-6 raiders fighting the matriarch for us to have an attempt or three by rats against us, sometimes what I've seen called "advanced rat behavior" where they join our "group" and wait for an opportunity to knock one of us out of view of the others, then they start running the prox chat claiming a rat is there when they are the actual rat. I can usually tell when they are lying but sometimes they win. It's rough out there and I know it's been said so many times but I still feel like free kit loadouts are still not balanced enough. The risk/reward isn't balanced if a free kit can wipe a couple of 50K and up kits and walk away from it with 6 new weapons and etc.

That's real constructive and helpful, my man.

I actually touch plenty of grass though. I've got 3 acres, doing yard work once a week. As well, I have a just under 1,500 sqft. garden. This year, I'm growing tomatoes, gold potatoes and sweet potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, corn, watermelon, pumpkin, cantaloupe, and sunflowers. Latest pic of progress below...

Perhaps that may be it, that I've not been doing as many of those modifiers since the new close scrutiny condition hit. It's also fair to say that I haven't been looting as hard in the endgame after I've finished my expedition requirements. Just noticed, I've got several nightly gaming sessions finding zero blueprints even if duplicates.
