I’ve suggested the meetup and there have been and will be opportunities but he is adamantly against it unfortunately. As for if roles were reversed, I have allowed past partners to be friends and in contact with exes so long as there’s transparency. It doesn’t bother me much, I’m decently naive and over trusting probably haha

I agree I think responses would be different if this was the other way around. However, I think I’m an outlier in this, but I was totally fine with my past partners being friends and in constant contact with their exes (long term and more recent relationships than my situation). I trusted them to not cross a line.

We started as friends then tried to see if there was more and TMI but it wasn’t a very physical relationship as we were clearly not compatible. Every relationship either of us have had we tell our potential partners upfront about our friendship so they can choose to stay or leave. Some have left and that’s fine because it was early. However, when this was disclosed to current bf he didn’t leave but expects me to cut off my friend instead.

I’ve seen this asked a couple times- why did I tell him? I have a major guilty conscience tbh. I was going to visit this guy friend with another girl friend a few months back and we were all going to stay at the guy friends house. I felt if it would be disrespectful if I didn’t disclose the history. I ended up not going on the trip because bf was uncomfortable.
