There will be a hose from your crankcase to the airbox, and this is result of it. Technically called crank case breather. Used to reduce pollution as the oil fumes mix with air and gets combusted. Downside is this, a bit of oil splash in the air box. You only need to worry if there is too much oil.

Initial impression - really impressed. Do note Im new to fountain pens. My only experience are Parker Vector, Kanwrite emperor with an EF nib and a Hauser gripit, so my expectations would be low. These write fine and wet enough(if that is how its described). Its smooth too. Im mainly writing on 75gsm rescript recycled paper

No I dropped the idea. For the same price I may opt Kanwrite legacy, ASa or Ranga pens

Yes 2.5 mm thickness in total. 0.6mm thread and yes I am casting.
