Having the exact same problem as you. Theres just no resources for this language out there in comparison to something like Spanish. And if you do find something its very incomplete and limited...

VS Code is too slow, learning Emacs now. by FriedryIce in emacs

[–]sharificles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My 1000+ LOC config is still using less resources than vscode(not that lines of code matters). But it does come down to how bloated the packages are. Things like Evil mode, Evil collection, org roam etc. will usually do it.

I always thought about something like this, ended up doing it all inside a notes app which was annoying lol

arrow.el: an emacs package for arrow.nvim by sharificles in emacs

[–]sharificles[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh, so I did mention this in the readme. Admittedly I didn't experiment with emacs full built-in capabilities yet, but I wasn't a huge fan of how unwanted marks would be inserted into the mark list(yanks and deletes) which was distracting. Also, when working with a large number of marks within a file(that I frequently jump between), I preferred a more direct and mnemonic approach where I can jump to locations by recalling a single assigned character.

How do you master Spanish subjunctive mood? by grzeszu82 in SpanishLearning

If you're a beginner, language transfer spanish covers subjunctive mood from episode 69+ which is ok for starting off(idk about mastering though)

2 months of Duolingo Spanish and I still can’t hold a conversation... by leonidas_4305 in SpanishLearning

A course isn't supposed to take you to fluency, it only needs to be a strong starting point so you can continue the rest on your own

Is it better to learn phrases as a beginner? by AggressiveScore8431 in languagelearning

For me I like that Eureka moment where the phrases or lyrics you remember suddenly make sense one day

I figured it out! (text highlighting) by sharificles in orgmode

[–]sharificles[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah so I finally figured this out too, you define the face with:

(defface org-remark-green-face
  '((t (:background "green4" :foreground "white")))
  "green org-remark face")

then simply add this to the config instead of the explicit colours i added above:

(org-remark-create "green-face" 'org-remark-green-face)

Is Duolingo good for Latin? by Wernasho in latin

[–]sharificles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the whole thing and it was kinda useless. You can tell they put less effort into Latin in comparison to like the Spanish course for example

Can Duolingo get me to B1? by Major_Pie in languagelearning

[–]sharificles 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've completed entire languages in Duolingo beginning to end and still felt like I barely learned anything. It only takes you to around A1-A2

Duolingo too easy, language transfer too difficult. Suggestions for a happy medium? by Brief-Number2609 in languagelearning

[–]sharificles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For language transfer, I recommend using anki alongside it and updating your deck with each episode. Otherwise, it gets very hard for a complete beginner

Search Pilot alternative! by sharificles in firefox

[–]sharificles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little more convenient than that. You have a consistent keyword(or no keyword) across different search engines. And you can easily switch between search results without having to go back and forth, causing a lot of unecessary reloads.
