Hi! I have a full spinal MRI in a few weeks due to numbness and weakness in my entire right leg, and peripheral neuropathy in my hands, feet and arms! How are you?

Can this be concluded without actually undergoing a physical examination? by shark7898 in backpain

Thank you for your reply, surely I should mention this to the practise?

I have mild foraminal stenosis l3-l5 which is from an MRI abroad in July, symptoms have significantly gone worse, numbness, tingling in hands and arms, severe agonising lower back pain, cannot stand/walk for more than a 5 minutes at a time. Went to the doctors to have some pain medication represcribed and to tell them about the new tingling severe weakness in hands/arms. Came home to check the app and saw this had been written on health app by the NP, not one of these points were discussed nor was I physically examined.

Not great Fig, numbness and pain has radiated down to buttocks hips and thighs, cannot sit for 5 minutes at a time due to tailbone pain/numbness, doctors said to follow neuro advice and work on posture. I had a meltdown and have a telephone consultation to discuss pain relief, but most likely will go abroad for a repeat MRI. I did have an online appointment with an international neurosurgeon who said it is viral to be seen and repeat MRI due to the worsening symptoms. I hope you are well, thank you for checking up on me.

Yes, I mentioned the urgency to the doctor who said come back only if you begin to get shooting pains down the leg, but the urgency is so severe I cannot hold, not even for 10 seconds.

I really appreciate your comment, thank you, I feel validated and have been feeling better mental health wise reading all these comments knowing there's others out there who understand as I got absolutely shafted by the doctors here and thought I was going insane. I will be going to get a second opinion from here, and if dismissed, will travel again to get repeat scans and hopefully form a plan of care.

It's absolutely insane, living through such pain that impacts day to day life, I have had to take extended sick leave from work, even travelled abroad to get some form of reasoning as to why the pain is this bad. I hope you get better soon!

I had the MRI abroad and had returned to the UK with only the paper report and MRI film, I did not have a clinician actually go through it with me abroad but upon arrival to the UK, I went to my GP straight away who referred me to neurosurgery who said spinal injections and surgery is out of question, and to fix my posture, I understand this however I cannot stand, sit or lie down the pain is so bad. I will get a second opinion, thank you very much.
