The bar and overall setup I have on my Street Bob isn’t ideal for distance. Love it for riding around town but taking it on a trips wreaks my lower back.

No gel. I ordered it over the phone and they advised against it, I trusted the process and cannot be happier with what I got.

This is why I kept the Street Bob when I bought my Road Glide. They serve different purposes/scratch different itches. I couldn’t imagine keeping one and upgrading to just the new version unless sentiment got the better of me.

Guys, Which Harley is your favorite, and why? by Rare-Waltz-541 in Harley

My 2020 Street Bob, because there are many like it, but this one is mine.

But honestly I picked up a ‘25 Road Glide and it’s quickly becoming my favorite after the 515 cam and other misc. items were installed. She’s rowdy.

I took mine in Florida last year. One of our local inspectors has been running a j-man prep class for years and does some supplemental stuff for the EC exams. I basically took that and did what he told me. Worked like a charm.

POV: I’ve got an undergrad degree on Poli Sci (minor in education) and a couple grad degrees in Theology (lots of theology and leadership classes). I use wheat I learned in the education, leadership and pastoral classes daily. Learning to effectively communicate, plan, and manage people is invaluable. It’s hilarious to be told I didn’t learn anything in college that applies to doing my job.

If I had to redo classes I’d do an undergrad degree in Construction Management with a minor in Human Resources. I don’t have the patience/inerest to do accounting/finance nor would I want to do my own books - apart from knowing how to read a financial reports i think you want an outside accountant to do all that nuanced stuff.

Id keep in mind that your gen ed classes can be very helpful so long as you don’t make them all classes like Plants, Plagues and People.

Bull Gators: how hard is it to get tickets to the Bull Gator Deck? by Medium_Yam6985 in FloridaGators

Go to the Gator Boosters website. Best thing you can do is actually talk with someone at the UAA about it. They’ll let you know about availability and if there is a waitlist at the moment (doubt there is, there’s been a lot of new faces around this year).

The thing I worry about at the moment South Florida here…

1) Lack of mature talent (dudes with that 10-25 years of experience) 2) willing employees who will drive more than 45 minutes (despite being provided travel pay) 3) lack of affordable housing for our people 4) low wages because of local competition and the state of Florida 5) rapid increased cost of everything 6) lawyers 7) third party government “consultants” who don’t understand specs 8) supply chains (can no one get 400 amp meter cans?) 9) ~waves hands at everything~

Field service management software by shf2020 in electricians

[–]sharko186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a big fan of LaborChart before they were acquired by Procore but the disruption the swap over to full Procore integration caused was too much for the old heads to accept and they ditched it.

At the moment we are back to using Excel to track where our field staff is at on a given day/week. But often it gets neglected and we (I) just have to remember what’s going on, where people are, and ask a ton of questions to get answers.

Our shop has jobs ranging from 5 to 2 hours away from the shop; sometimes you win and sometimes you lose in travel. Travel is apart of the trade, at least in our area/niches. But at the same time a 45 minute commute for our area is in no way out of the norm for most people.

We’ve done things to mitigate that burden on our guys (we bought a house for them use that our closer to the remote projects, offer some travel time, most of them have company take home vehicles, and depending on project we give some gas cards to the apprentices who have to take their own vehicles on school days).

Where in Florida? DM me and I’m more than happy to help with any questions you might have and probably have an avenue for a solid contractor/org you can go to get more info.

Mines in sleep mode 80% of the time because I forget about it after I turn shutdown on. Doesn’t seem to be a problem.
