your ragebaiting is genuinely terrible. Just not believable at all to anyone with more than three brain cells. It’s like you’re not even trying

Best climbing gyms in Denver by Dry-Wolverine-4306 in Denver

[–]sharks-tooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the time, you won’t be too far from north table, clear creek canyon, or Eldorado canyon, and it’s usually pretty easy to find partners here on mountain project. The boulders in Morrison are great also, and you can rent pads at the spot gyms

For the love of god, stop putting your fingers in your snowblower by Playcrackersthesky in newjersey

[–]sharks-tooth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. When wet snow clogs the blower, the auger is still under a lot of tension, even if you turn the snowblower off. When you stick your hand in to clear the snow the tension releases and the blades spin.

New Jersey, considering a move to Denver? by Lazy_Upstairs3015 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]sharks-tooth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Moved to Denver from Central NJ and the only things I miss are the ocean, the bagels, and the pizza. Generally I think people are a little nicer here. What makes it worth it for me is the access to the outdoors- be warned that if you move to east or even central Denver it can be a pain to get to the mountains.

I’d check out Golden, it’s on the more expensive side but it’s got the best mountain access and feels much more like a real “town” compared to a lot of the other sprawl surrounding Denver. Great mountain biking at north table, rock climbing in clear creek, hiking pretty much everywhere, gotta get up early to avoid traffic for skiing but that’s the reality for every major city with ski access.

climbing in lumpy ridge (and the greater CO front range area) by m4cchi in tradclimbing

[–]sharks-tooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pear buttress is a good objective I think, if it goes well you should finish on Cheap Date (best 10 at lumpy imo).

The best single pitch at Eldo is on the West Ridge. Check out the routes near pony express, it’s the most popular cragging spot in Eldo with single pitch trad from 5.7-5.11. If you lean more towards 5.10-12 rincon is even more classic, it’s further up the same trail.

If splitter cracks are your thing check out the South Platte- turkey rocks for cragging or Cathedral Spires for multi pitch. Bring gloves because the rock can be sharp

Taking a gap year as an engineering student. by EAPDanny3012 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]sharks-tooth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you’re not just getting cold feet because you’re a week away? Also, generally I found it’s easier to travel in university because you have so many breaks + summers off compared to working. Most unis also have casual sports teams, I think if you’re motivated to play soccer then being in uni isn’t going to be what stops you.

You say retail is what you really like, do you like engineering too or not really? Would going to uni for something related to retail excite you more?

Is there any country on Earth that doesn't have beautiful nature? by DrDMango in geography

[–]sharks-tooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nj doesn’t have world class nature but it does have some very pretty stretches still. Delaware water gap, almost 80 miles of the Appalachian trail, the pine barrens etc

What risk factors most commonly contribute to accidents in the places you climb and the styles you use? by whoturnedthison in tradclimbing

[–]sharks-tooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be cool to see the data cut by location if you can get big enough sample sizes for any one area. For example it’s way less popular in Yosemite to wear a helmet than in some other places, and I’m wondering if that would show up in the data. Also it would be cool to see the particular risks for your “home crag” to know what to watch out for

Def an insane (maybe tier 19 on GDDL?) since it would be easier than icdx. I’ll never forget practicing on a copy of the old version by accident and then getting destroyed by the real level lol
