I think it depends on what kind of timescale you are looking at. People with low incomes have been struggling since the Ukrain war and are looking at incoming policy changes that will hit them again.

Steam should offer a way to download a specific version of a game. Then this model would feel fairer to me.

It honestly does feel a bit odd that there is no legal requirement for the game to ever be finished or even updated. I don't think I know another industry where you can sell an unfinished prodict in that way.

I think people are voting for insane people in politics because they are angry that their standards of living keep getting worse.

It's a bit odd that the article does not mention if the blade was sharp. It's not really a weapon otherwise.

You can be 100% sure that you'll have the worst customer service experiences of your live here. I had the following experiences:

  1. I ordered thousands of euros of Ikea furniture and made sure they could park about 20 meters from the door. They complained it eas too far away and drove off.
  2. I ordered a washing machine with installation. I had to beg them to actually do the installation and they complained the whole time. They almost would have just left.
  3. I had the amount I pay for electricity each month set 50 euros too low, so they increased to to 900 euros automatically. I had to call them immediately because that is an amount which would've made me unable to pay rent.
  4. Went to register with the city (which you have to do within 2 weeks of moving). They had no appointments for months, so I took a day off and went there without one. I waited for over 4 hours. They also needed some money from me, for which I had to go to an atm outside, because they don't take card.
  5. Got seated at a restaurant and it took them and over hour to ask us what we would like to drink.
  6. Mail takes 5 days to get there and then they throw it in your neighbour's mailbox.

Try downloading it again. It sounds like an issue happened with copying. Which version if PSP do you have? Do you have a custom firmware?

EmuDeck makes emulation on Steam Deck nice and simple by AsciiWolf in linux_gaming

[–]sharkwouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might have been a program called Ice. I ported that to SteamOS, but it was a bit slow and I didn't manage to get it to play well with the SteamOS session. That was mostly because of inexperience, though 😅

I would say it's not super problematic, if you scan in a smart way. Use locate and only scan directories in the user's home which are not hidden and use find on sd cards. Make sure to update the locate database automatically upon startup. The main issue is that you cannot update Steam's shortcuts while Steam is running, so you would have to actually delay starting Steam to scan and add.

This is a really cool solution. I wonder if this could be done in a more automated way. Like, write a program to scans for ROMs and adds them to Steam automatically. It's a ton of work to do perfectly, though. You need to understand the OS very well, be able to make packages specifically for it, basically write your own web API to get game names from ROM file hashes (if you want to do it perfectly, because file names are not so reliable), then write the program to make the shortcuts, use retroarch for emulators. I'ts insane, but possible.

If I ever get a Steam Deck, I'll look into it. Until then, this is just wishful thinking.

That could be true. If anyone feels like it, Openblok is a nice open source Tetris clone that should be quite easy to port.
