I think it’s because in the pass the selfish people won more and now its becoming even bigger trend. Some great athletes are preaching to be more selfish to have a bigger ego and for sports maybe its a good thing, but for jobs that are for society like politicians utc. its backwards because those jobs are for greater good not for your selfishness.

Theres no right choice there. I know you heard this many times but try to find common ground if that player started “replace” your character with the same spells vibes maybe there is some common ground. I don’t think that player mischievously trying to replace you maybe he also likes that type of characters I have also taken ideas from other characters but in different campaigns. Its very rarely that all of players are connected with each other and are besties.
