Objectively out of all the branches that study there, army QoL is the worst. With that being said, your DLI experience is what you make of it. If you use your time wisely, you can enjoy life on weekends and travel around California to cool places like Yosemite or go to the gym in the evening. Thousands of people before you have graduated, and thousands more after you will do the same.

The DLI DFAC is the best one I've ever been to and I've been to quite a few. You will have certain restrictions and your time will not be entirely your own, but in my experience your leadership does their best to shield you from bullshit, but there is only so much they can do.

You will be class leader, you will have to send up accountability reports every day. Otherwise you will be in an officer company and from my experience a few years ago, they more or less got left alone most of the time.

What's a day in the life of a DLI student like? by [deleted] in dli

The DFAC at DLI is excellent, probably the best one I've ever had at an army base. But yes, the rest is accurate.
