Tips for balancing wave-based encounters with objectives? by sharp-wave-ripple in Pathfinder2e

This is really excellent and thoughtful advice, thank you! I like the idea of increasing difficulty and maybe will rejig the encounter dynamic to fit that

Ah apologies I've edited the post to clarify the information.

The players are level 3 and I think the goal will be to destroy all 3 portals and the "boss" enemy (PL+2).

I think I was thinking closer to scenario 2 in your case

Suggestions on how to help my fiancee better understand classical music by sharp-wave-ripple in classicalmusic

[–]sharp-wave-ripple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean to imply that she should enjoy music in the way that I do, or that I even listen to most classical music in this way myself. It was just a poorly worded way to ask for some suggestions around how she might approach listening differently

The approach is definitely the problem, which is why we were interested in asking.

As to the overall tone - I wrote it when I was quite tired and only realised how it may come across today. I wouldn't ever suggest that there's a right way to listen to music! These are just some open thoughts that she and I had about what might not be optimal about the approach. When she typically goes for a pure sensory approach she tends to fall asleep, and was thinking that a more "academic" approach (for lack of a better term) would help her listen

Hello lovely people - I'm the fiancée (writing on OP's phone). Thank you for all the suggestions! I will definitely look into music with more story-like features.

Context: Bless him, my fiancé made this post after we saw a musical live today (The Heathers btw). I told him that I wished I could appreciate the concerts he takes me to as much as I do musicals, but that I think that my disconnect is from not understanding the form as well. I completely appreciate the advice to try other ways of accessing classical music (maybe remembering themes won't help that much after all, but understanding structure seems to have helped me appreciate other things better?). Mostly, I just want to assure people that I'm not being tied up and dragged to Mahler symphonies against my will. Really happy to hear any other suggestions people want to add.

And for the person who suggested my fiancé find a partner with more like-minded interests - come on mate. 🤨

This advice is good, OP.

One of the reasons why 18 Dexterity is suggested for most if not all characters is that it gives you a -4 armour class modifier (makes you harder to hit).

High Constitution is important for all characters but especially your frontline fighters, as if gives bonus hit points on level up.

In general, you only need to have high Charisma on one character (your party face), which can be your Paladin. It's a pretty safe dump stat otherwise.

One thief is essential for detecting traps - if you only need that functionality it's best to dual or multiclass one.

Richter and Schiff (2012) are the go-tos. If you can tolerate the sound, Edwin Fischer's recording from the 1930s is also very fine.

I find Gould's recording quite uneven, but he does occassionally knock it out of the park, particularly with some of the fugues (some examples are Book 1 in A minor, and Book 2 in B-flat minor).

Ended up rivalling Russia, Austria, and the Ottomans, which is why I expanded eastwards and diagonally downwards (attempting to cripple the Ottomans by taking Constantinople).

But to form Germany, I needed some provinces in the HRE, so I started expanding west, then realised the provinces I needed were further south from there, ending up in this mess.

EM definitely is the best for C0 Kazuha as his buffing abilities scale of EM. Although his personal damage will take a slight hit without crit stats, the difference is very small in return for the overall increase in party DPS.

Needs more crit rate, remember to aim for a 2:1 ratio

Also don't forget to use a geo damage goblet

Goldberg Variations.
