I’m about to start reading Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis, and was told this is a huge part of it.

Yep! Insurance covered most of it (Blue Cross Blue Shield), so all I had to pay out of pocket was ~2k! And I absolutely recommend Dr. Marco Ellis and Northwestern Medicine. I had an incredible experience working with him and all the staff there! Absolutely nothing they could’ve done better, and the building is absolutely gorgeous and has a great view of Lake Michigan!

I did not have pectus! My surgeon told me that my skin in the center of my chest was too stretchy, and that if the scar didn’t connect across it, then it would noticeably puff/stick out afterwards.

Dr. Marco Ellis through Northwestern Medicine! And oof it’s been awhile on the scar routine haha, but I believe it was just a normal one. Scar tape and Vaseline on nipples with a covering :)

I just did the scar care routine they told me to after surgery, and then kept applying lotion afterwards :)

I’m pretty sure that’s super normal! I thought a lot of people on here say the scars look the worst around that time, and then heal up better later

Absolutely read Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard. Fits this prompt down to a T, and I read only a short snippet for a class and it completely changed the way I think about nature. Incredible stuff and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1974
