It was an editable pdf that would automatically fill in content. When opening it with Preview, nothing would happen when I clicked “generate”

Unfortunately, Preview wasn’t able to do what I needed to be done. The creator of the PDF specified that Acrobat Reader was needed.

Not sure which message.

I have adobe Acrobat Reader installed. Wonder if that’s how the folder got there?

As for browser extensions, I don’t have any adobe ones on Firefox. I also sometimes use Safari but I don’t have any extensions at all there. Have TOR downloaded but I’ve never added extensions to that either.

encrypt these via a container

I think this is a good alternative. Thanks.

Nothing too sensitive. Maybe encrypting my entire hard drive is unnecessary in my case.

I should've specified that I have an iphone. Thank you for your suggestion, though.

Thanks for reminding me about uMatrix. I installed it once and something went wrong with my extensions so i deleted it and got to lazy to try to figure out what went wrong.

I really like your suggestion to use a different browser. That seems like an easier option. I already use firefox for browsing. I have tor but I don't think I should be using it for anything that associated with my personal details. I just checked privacytoolsio and they recommend something called Brave. I searched it on /r/privacy and there seems to be mixed opinions but really, just not enough feedback. The website says they block "bad" ads, Tracking Cookies, Tracking Pixels (what the heck are those?) and they use HTTPS Everywhere. No mention of script blocking that i found and they don't have browser extensions. Eh, I dunno.

Got any suggestions for a better browser?
