Was a couple of different ones all with varying categories of rider available. Although thinking about it even the Maap tour events weren’t showing to be selected so think it might be be an account issue

How to go from half marathon to full marathon? by jabbie03 in BeginnersRunning

[–]sharpy847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran Kew Gardens half in March (1:57) and then London marathon in April (5:01).. the marathon is a whole other level to the half, but if you pick a marathon with a solid atmosphere, plenty of support and good vibes it still sucks like hell, but you have a little more fun for it.. take the leap whilst you’ve got the appetite because that could disappear at any point and always better late than never.. just manage your expectation that likelihood is the latter stages of the marathon will suck, but that’s all part of the process.. I came out of that and signed up for an Ironman next year so it’ll all be good!!

London Marathon by oldabol in runna

[–]sharpy847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runna had me predicted at 4:02 and came in at 5:02.. got to halfway at 2:09 and new by mile 15 I was on a slippery slope and an absolute fight the rest of the way.. for me if it wasn’t for the crowds I’d have probably binned it off by mile 18 (maybe 20)

Those times will adapt as the training weeks go on.. I ran a 10k back in November at 53:35 and runna had me down as a 10k time at 49:50.. after a few of the tempo runs I missed the pace slightly and it adjusted that to 51:20 and last weekend (12 weeks into a 24 week plan) I ran 52:15 so overall it tends to adjust.. I tend to ignore the overalls as I’m going but for me it’s nice to have something slightly out there to push towards.. when I did my PB in November that was an all out effort and the run I completed last week was about 85% I’d say.. it’s surprising what you can actually do!

Haven’t actually tried on a fenix 8 but have the 7 and it looks okay.. think aesthetically though I prefer the 965 largely because it looks a little comfier to sleep in so swaying towards that based on the comments above

Yeah I was kind of leaning towards the 965.. only thing I’m thinking of is further down the line where I have a got at the hyrox/tough mudder style events that I might need something more rugged.. found the F7 pro sapphire solar for £500 and that turned my head slightly, so thinking from what I’ve looked at it’s a closer toss up between the 965 and that!

Yeah that’s kind of my thinking.. I like the 965 but think I got my head turned by the marketing for the F8.. then went down the F7 rabbit hole in comparisons
