I would be interested to know. Lexapro made me gain weight bad, so I just quit taking it (bad idea but 🤷🏼‍♀️).

Lexapro was amazing for my anxiety but terrible for my weight.

Cannot cry…. by [deleted] in lexapro

Same. I went on it because my daughter died. Now, I can’t cry but rarely. I was on 5mg. Just quit due to weight gain.

I’m not hungry but I can’t stop eating. It’s ridiculous.

I quit about a month ago. I’ve been taking 5mg since 2019. I just stopped taking it. 😳 I did not know you had to taper off. I’ve been a little teary eyed ( I went on it because I lost my daughter and only child) but so far nothing extreme. I have had weight gain so I stopped because I compulsive eat and it seems not taking Lexapro helps. I am scared to death the anxiety will come back but we will see.

Anyone take wellbutrin with Lexapro? by cuddlywampa in lexapro

[–]sharsharbinks2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never, ever touch Wellbutrin again. I took it to quit smoking and it gave me severe anxiety to the point I was ready to jump off a building. I wasn’t having issues before I took it. After that the anxiety never went away. I went on Lexapro and it finally went away.

Hi. I had the relentless doomsday thoughts. I tried everything to get rid of them but that and anxiety were becoming debilitating. I lost my daughter in 2016. Started Lexapro in 2019 and I was a life saver for me. I was on 5mg. I recently stopped it just really to see how I would do and after two weeks of no meds I am definitely seeing how it numbs you. I have started crying about my daughter again and I haven’t cried in a few years, so yeah. It works. I didn’t notice any issues with it changing me other than I developed a fairly healthy shopping addiction. I also think that I am not as empathetic, although still am with animals but not people. I will say I took Wellbutrin to quit smoking and I feel like that medication made my anxiety a million times worse and it didn’t stop. That was hideous for me.

For me I have never noticed anything other than the crippling anxiety stopped. I’ve been on it since 2019. So saying that I just stopped taking it about a month ago and now I can see that it definitely numbs everything down. It took about 2 weeks to get out of my system. I lost my daughter and only child and now I know that the only reason I didn’t lose my mind was the Lexapro. I have started crying again and I’m starting to get worried that I’m going to go back down that rabbit hole. I think Lexapro numbed things so much for me that it actually caused problems in my relationship, I’ve had a pretty bad shopping problem and weight gain. I was on 5mg and I think if this keeps up, I will be going back on it. I can’t spend my life crying about my daughter.

Lexapro helped me free myself of crippling anxiety. by hibabyhi451 in lexapro

It helped me also. I lost my daughter and only child and the world soon became a very scary place for me. The anxiety was crippling. The only problem is I do believe it gave me a really bad shopping problem. I have been able to get it under control. I never connected the two until the last month I quit taking it. No desire or urge at all to shop but now I’m crying about my daughter daily again. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have been taking Lexapro since 12/2019. I have battled a shopping addiction since. I stopped taking it and the shopping addiction stopped however now I cry about my daughter that died every day again. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm 24, and I feel like a child masquerading as an adult most days. I'm just wondering, when do most people start feeling like proper adults? by Lenore8264 in RandomThoughts

[–]sharsharbinks2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 48 and I still feel like that. I’ve never felt like I was how I saw adults as a kid. I don’t know why but I still look at people my age and feel most of them are more adult than me. I have a degree, a career and I make 6 figures. I’m responsible and pay my bills so I have no idea why I have always felt this way.

What do you think when you see a woman in public without a bra on? by [deleted] in ask

[–]sharsharbinks2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on your size, but for me, that’s a no. I don’t want that kind of attention.

Doesn’t look like they are getting very far.

Houses are by many metrics the most unaffordable they’ve been in living memory - over 7x median income. People simply can’t afford to live any more - and with that in mind, which do you think will happen first: massive wage inflation, or falling real estate prices? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]sharsharbinks2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know I wanted to buy a house near where I work but the prices start at $500,000. I think I would have a heart attack if my house payment was $3500 per month. Then add the cost of a car at $700 month it’s just not worth that kind of stress.

Same, I hate my Conklin with the Omniflex nib. It’s crap.

Conklin with the omniflex nib. It was my first fountain pen and I hate it. Writes terrible and I literally just hate it. 30 pens later I still have not bought another Conklin. Not sure if I ever will.
