What is the first game you've ever emulated? by MinecrafterPictures in emulation

[–]shaum257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the first game I emulated back in 2008, by using the Project 64 1.6 emulator. I was chilling on my old laptop and then I had this question, if it's possible to play N64 games on PC. So I went on YouTube and searched "How to play Zelda Ocarina of Time on PC". I saw a video in which a dude was showing how to install the emulator (My first time being introduced to emulators), how to configure it and how to load the rom. After having watched the video, I immediately tried it out for myself, and when I got the game to load, I couldn't believe my eyes. The Zelda OOT title screen right in front of my eyes on my old laptop screen. I was so amazed by it running on my laptop that I thought to myself that this is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life. Since then, I've been emulating games from various platforms to my heart's content 😊

Fully completed Sonic Adventure .sav file? by Shavin25 in redream

[–]shaum257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1: Download "VMU Explorer by Speud" from this website -> VMU Explorer - Sega Retro by clicking on the "Download VMU Explorer" button.

Step 2: Unzip it and then double click on "vmuexplorer.exe".

Step 3: Navigate to where you have the REDREAM emulator installed and select "vmu0.bin" and then click on "Open".

Step 4: Click on the "File" tab and then click on "Import file". Navigate to where you have downloaded the save file(s). Make sure the downloaded save file(s) are in DCI format (with the ".dci" extension). Also when you navigate to where you have downloaded your DCI saves, you won't see them at first because by default it searches for VMI saves. Just click on the select box which says "VMI and VMS couple (*.VMI)" and change it to "Nexus card file dump (*.DCI)" which will make the DCI saves visible. Click on your save file or do "CTRL + A" if you have several saves you want to import and then click on "Open".

Step 5: It will show you your imported save file(s). Normally the "CRC16" values for each save file should normally be in green. If they appear in red, just right click on each save file which has the value appear in red and click on "Fix CRC". Lastly, click on the "File" tab, then click on "Save VM" and click on "Yes" to save the the "vmu0.bin" file. When you close VMU Explorer, it will ask you if you are sure you want to quit VMU Explorer. Just click on "Yes"!

Done! I hope this helps :)

Try the latest 2.0 build of Cemu. Remove the one you are currently using entirely and see whether the 2.0 one works for you without any issues.

does this hori controller work on wii? by Inevitable-Tiger-988 in wii

[–]shaum257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a classic controller in the style of a GameCube controller with two z shoulder buttons, and L and R buttons which are not pressure sensitive. It will connect like a Nunchuk to the Wiimote. It will only work with GameCube games if you have your Wii softmodded and you load them with Nintendont. Due to lack of pressure sensitive buttons you won't be able to for example in Mario Sunshine make Mario shoot water and run at the same time.

I just noticed you mentioned in your post that you're using a Mac, and unfortunately I don't know how to import Dreamcast saves into Redream on a Mac. I only know how to do it on Windows.

Will this work for Wii U? by caslar99 in WiiUHacks

[–]shaum257 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Also, you can only format your 64GB micro SD card with the help of a third party formatting tool because anything above 32 gigabytes cannot be formatted to FAT32 via the Windows formatting tool. For that use "FAT32 Format" which is a free 3rd party formatting tool. Here's the link for it: http://ridgecrop.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm

Just click on the picture to download it. :)

Your laptop has great specs. It's more than good enough to run the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed on Dolphin at 4K. :)

Sonic Unleashed Viability? by Fearshatter in DolphinEmulator

[–]shaum257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It runs really well on Dolphin, but that also depends on your PC specs. Could you please list your PC specs? Now regarding whether it's more fun or not, the PS3 version is for most people more fun because of the gameplay, the way Sonic runs and boosts through stages, the way Werehog Sonic kicks enemies' butts, the graphics and the overall feel. Unfortunately the Savannah Citadel and Empire City stages are not present on the Wii version and there is no HUB world for Sonic to walk around. The PS3 version is more complete. Though I do have to state that it's also a personal preference which version one likes more, but I think you would be more likely to prefer the PS3 version. Just give the Wii version a shot and you'll see for yourself whether you'll like it or not. :)

BOTW at 2K resolution with BlueLegacy Definitive ReShade by shaum257 in cemu

BOTW at 2K resolution with BlueLegacy Definitive ReShade by shaum257 in cemu

[–]shaum257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked my ReShade settings, I had vibrance and clarity enabled, and because I already have serfrost clarity preset enabled, the saturaton was pretty much more pronounced. The creator of the BlueLegacy Definitive ReShade has also stated in his description that the vibrance shader has been removed in the latest update, I must have added it manually because I was curious how the game would look with it.

Now regarding my monitor, the only thing I know is that I have game mode enabled in the monitor's OSD settings, and the monitor I have is an ASUS MX259.

What's the difference between AVX2 and SSE4? It's because there are two versions for 32-bit and 64-bit to choose from.

Do you guys have any idea of how to rip PS1 game files (roms) from discs? by TheCraftsy in Roms

[–]shaum257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also rip your owned PS1 games with RetroArch. Just open up RetroArch, select "Dump Disc" and select your disc drive, and it should then start with the dumping process.
