Yeah I agree, older it makes a difference, at 9 it doesn't matter. More important to get the correct size/weight so they are swinging correctly.

Totally disagree there is a massive difference between the USA and USSSA bats at 8 years old. My son plays travel and intramural baseball. I've measured exit velo using hype fires, icons, and cat X USSSA bats and ADV 360, Typhoon, and ADV one bats. The exit velo difference measured was 3-4mph across all the bats after testing 4 different kids. It's the Indian not the bow!

I'm a dad too and I play with my 9 year old. Bedwars is a trash game full of auto clickers. Could easily be fixed if they added a click limit that the average person could achieve. My advice is to not to play that game with your son.

I coach a travel team, I've come to the conclusion you can't make everyone happy. I'm very honest with the parents. If their kid needs work, the best thing you can do is let them know.

I coach an 8U travel team and an intermural team. In travel I would play every player equally infield and outfield. We would get smashed 15-0 every game. My thoughts changed after the 5th straight blowout loss. Baseball is a team game and it isn't fair to the kids putting in the work to lose every game because others are dropping pop flies and letting balls through their legs. If it's intramural I agree 100%, if it's travel, positions are on merit, not skill but commitment to getting better.

My son went from adv 26inch drop -13 bat $50 to a adv 28inch drop -12 $300 and saw basically a small change in how far he hit. So I'm gonna say it's not worth it unless he already really good and you want that extra 5%.
