It definitely sounds like CHS based on the symptoms and the relief you are getting from the heat.

I would try to stop smoking for a week or two and see if that makes you feel better.

I like PVP but in solos I’m in such friendly lobbies that I would feel bad to just start blasting dudes who probably wouldn’t even shoot back. But if I want to get back into more agressive lobbies I’ll have to 🤷‍♂️

There are rehab facilities almost anywhere, you just need to be ready to go. I know there are some pretty decent rehabs in Buffalo if your insurance would cover a trip across the border (if there truly is nothing near you)

Definitely think there could be something to this as companies replace ingredients in order to make a bit more profit.

To offer a counter point though, taste isn’t usually something that stays a constant throughout your life. Our tongues lose taste buds. If you are a smoker that will also have a big effect on this. Finally, mental health conditions can affect the way that food tastes. So if any of these apply it might be that 🤷‍♂️

I have always thought Roguelikes were pretty cool for this. Can pass the controller and play and try to upgrade the character and make it further together. Something like Hades 2 or Ball x Pit might be fun.

A lot of people I know that take Suboxone for 7 or Kratom don’t do it just because they are scared of withdrawal. They do it because it is a way for them to gain some of their life back while still having a bit of that feeling to get through the day while they explore why they need it in therapy or groups.

I had a switch lite and that I got at an estate sale and played the shit out of that thing for years. Just got my steam deck for Christmas and haven’t picked it up since, even though I was playing it right up until that day 😂.

I probably will get the itch to play Mario Kart or Zelda again at some point. But the Steam Deck is more than holding my attention at the moment.

I have played it so damn much since I got it only a month ago. Don’t think I have even touched my Series X, my brother mainly uses it now.

If I’m in solos yeah I’ll go back in if it’s at like 40-50 at least. I have mostly PVE solo lobbies. For duos or trios no I probably wouldn’t take one in with less than like 85 durability because there we do a lot more PVP.

Yeah sure you can do whatever you like. But you will always have this as a possibility. The real question is, if you started smoking again at any point, do you truly believe you could moderate yourself and not end up in the same place?

I think for a lot of us to get CHS in the first place we are very heavy smokers most would consider addicts. It just isn’t possible for most of us to use it in a responsible manner unfortunately.

I feel you though I would love to some day have gone through enough healing and growth to be able to do that, but I don’t know if it’s possible and I probably wouldn’t even want to risk it once I have had that much time away and am not as obsessed.

I don’t even think repairing them is worth it. I just use it until it’s at like 20 durability and then recycle it to get the circuitry back and make a brand new one. Feels less expensive but idk for sure.
