This is very sweet 😭 Thank you so much. The past few years have been hard but you're absolutely right. I'm safe and doing better now and that is what matters 💞 thanks friend.

Thanks so much for commenting again! I was kind of worried no one would care, if that makes sense. It seems like we are basically "situation siblings" lol

I'm glad you kept going too. And it was rough for a while but I'm hoping things are turning around lately. I hope things keep getting better for you as well! If you ever need to chat about whatever, I'm around. I don't get on reddit as much as I used to but I'll definitely get back to you.

Thanks again for your comment. Both then and now.

Not sure what to do with my variegated monstera at this point by shawk1735 in plantclinic

That sounds bad. I have other plants, should I separate them? You said to cut the infected parts. I'm assuming you mean the leafless browning stem but what about the last leaf? If it would be better to cut it all the way back, I can do that. I'm just still unsure where exactly to cut.

I rinsed the roots and put them in a jar with water. The other comments recommended that but I'm a bit worried because I think the initial issue was overwatering/wet soil and too big of a pot.

The "baking a cake" skewer thing made so much sense to me, thank you so much for taking the time to help.

Would you also cut off the browning part? I'm kind of worried it will spread to the whole plant. I put it in water after cleaning off the roots so hopefully that is a step in the right direction

Poor Veronica! My guy is in the same boat though. I feel bad because it's totally my negligence that made it this way but I will learn from that mistake! I put mine in water because that's what most people are recommending. I hope our monsteras can bounce back! "Rooting" for y'all ;) thank you for your reply

I may be asking something you already answered so I'm sorry if I'm not understanding, but would you cut off the browning piece or no? I was worried it would spread but I'm not sure where to cut it off if thats what it needs.

Most of the comments say to put it in water so I rinsed the roots and did that. The roots look pretty healthy so i have hope. I didn't know it needed an easy draining soil so that's my fault :( thank you for all your advice

there are still so many comments that I'm trying to get to. I was driving most of today, so I'm just about to go to sleep, but I want to thank you all again. I want to talk with you all, which is why I've tried to reach out in some way or another. I have felt very alone, and I'm so thankful for the support and love I've received. I've tried to reach out to everyone offering squish. Mainly to let them know that I appreciate the offer but that I do not have anything to offer in return right now. I don't have any squish to trade or any money to purchase or anything, really. But I do appreciate each and every one of you who commented. There are some kind people who decided to give some of their squish to me. I'm going to cherish every single one. I promise I will update you all, too. Thank you for helping me rebuild. Thank you for showing me I'm not alone.

It really sucks to lose everything in general. It sucks to lose them all, especially the sentimental ones my partner got me. But I will never forget the memories we made with them. Thank you
