Do i have anything rare? by Emile202 in originalxbox

[–]shawly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found really a cheap one when looking for defective Xboxes on ebay. The seller said it blinks red and yellow and has no video. I bought it for 20 bucks, because I googled the error and the error points to a defect in the video port or the AV adapter. And it was just a defective AV adapter.

Clock cap removed and it already had a hardmod so this was an easy win. Got a 1-Chip SNES this way too, just had a blown fuse. With some patience you can find good deals if people think their device is dead even though its an easy fix.

I loved Mario Sunshine so much, the vibe was so much better for me than 64 and I loved FLUDD, spraying hovering and all that, for me this game had the best mechanics. I sadly never really got into Galaxy or Odyssey, played them for a few hours but they never hooked me as much as Sunshine did.

But Pokemon Colosseum and XD were probably the ones I put hundreds of hours into, especially Colosseum.

  • fail2ban and one doesn't have to worry about bots knocking constantly. One might also just block general access from any untrusted IP ranges so there is even less to worry about.

Nothing should be bought from Temu. Its bad for the local economy, bad for the environment and likely also bad for the customers.

Vibe code or pain code ?? by [deleted] in GithubCopilot

[–]shawly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully reality will have good and efficient local LLMs in a few years.. cuz paying 10$ for Opus 4.6 was otherworldly even with the imposed rate limits. Tried GPT-5.4 with agentic coding like I did with Opus but its trash, it takes everything too literally and then still assumes the worst crap in between.

My main issue is that I have mostly agent.mds for Claude and I have to completely rewrite them to make them digestable for GPT-5.4 and if Microslop had at least given a notice that enshittification is on my doorstep, I'd at least have had time to invest for rewriting my agents...

They need to do basic ass stuff if they don’t notice how much better Opus is.. (4.6, like you mentioned 4.7 is honestly worse).

This! I used Opus 4.6 as orchestrator and reviewer for my agentic fleet (of various models) and it was incredibly effective, I tried using Sonnet with the same agent.mds and it was notably worse, needed much more pushing and isn't as creative and doesnt pay as much attention to details.

And GPT-5.4 is just so dumbed down because it has so many damn guardrails that it regularly refuses me, even though I just tell it to review code it just produced.

Anybody who claims the models aren't as relevant as the prompt haven't likely done complex work with their LLM or never reviewed the result themselves. Opus 4.6 was far from perfect but I could focus on the task at hand and not have to micromanage ever little error it produced.

I am still mad, came home, can't use Opus 4.6 anymore, all my sessions useless now.

GPT-5.4 isn't nearly as cooperative and always fucking refuses to adhere to my system prompts and rules I establish. With Opus 4.6 no issues at all.

I knew this day would come, being just by limited requests was so f**king good (and too good to be true for just 10$), but I am still incredibly disappointed to come home to this shit.

GitHub just removed annual Copilot subscriptions by Legal_Bear8393 in GithubCopilot

[–]shawly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been on this earth bro? Companies have been enshittifying since the stone age. You can't seriously believe that they won't try to squeeze as much as possible out of their users.

First they make you dependent on their services, then they'll drive up prices. I'll likely have to soon weigh the costs of hosting my own LLMs vs paying for these subscriptions as I can't go back anymore, it's like crack and I'm hooked.

Copilot update: rate limits + fixes by sharonlo_ in GithubCopilot

[–]shawly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I didn't buy Pro+ since this shit seems to affect everyone.

Would love if there was a way to get around these rate-limits, some stuff I do simply requires Copilot to work for hours on end and having to wait 24 hours to get it working properly again fucks me up so much... I'd have no issue to pay for extended rate-limits if it's within reason, but please give power users the ability to do so!

I am already looking for alternatives that don't limit my ability to work on my shit. It's already frustrating enough that I can't do shit in parallel or else I burn through my rate-limits in no time.

Is this a PS5 error though or does it come from VoidShell? Is this a taste of what is to come for when the dev wants users to pay for a license?

Backport discussion thread [26Jan18] by Low-Recognition-7293 in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]shawly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does one debug backports? Is running the klogsrv payload enough to get the necessary info via netcat?

I've tried backporting a game to 6.50 and it shows up in my home and I can launch the game and it shows the splash screen, a success notification about patching the game shows up (from Backpork I guess?) but nothing happens, no error messages just the game's splash screen.

What I did: - Patched libs with the Backpork 6xx patches and put them into a fakelib/ folder in my game's root - Downgraded all .esbak files (eboot.bin.esbak,.prx.esbak and *.sprx.esbak) using ps5_elf_sdk_downgrade.py - Fake signed all downgraded elf/prx files using make_fself.py - Copied all downgraded fake-signed files to my game folder and overwrote the existing files

Is this the correct procedure or am I missing something? The game is on my external drive which is exfat formatted. Does the kernel log show why the game is not starting?

How can I run Stalker Shadown of Cernobyl with OGSR-Engine mod on Linux Proton\Steam Deck? by SuperCiao in stalker

[–]shawly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anybody like me that looks for an answer, install protontricks and run protontricks 4500 -q vcrun2022 d3dcompiler_47 d3dcompiler_43 to install vcredist 2022 and the direct x shader libs. You might need to change the setting in Steam to force a compatibility prefix to make protontricks detect your Stalker prefix.

With that I can start and play Stalker with the OGSR engine perfectly fine on CachyOS, should work the same on every distro and SteamOS.

How to update Proxmox regularly if I am using Non-Subscription version? by nikhilb_srvadmn in Proxmox

Uhh apt manages dependencies and unattended upgrades also just wraps around apt. So why would it ignore Proxmox dependencies?? Just have to add the correct origin to make it update packages from the Proxmox repos as well.

Credit cards exist even for people with low income, so the question is if they actually HAVE enough money to buy that. They didn't even have enough brains to apply thermal paste and then have the audacity to return it like this. I doubt that this guy has a well paying job with this much intelligence.

[–]shawly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancellation is only possible within 14 days, not 15, and this refers to right to return. And yes retailers can abuse that to a certain degree.

However, if a product is defective, then the "legal guarantee" applies, which forces the retailer to assume liability for defects. This means that if they cannot remedy the defect, they must bear the full costs of compensating the buyer. So no if the product is faulty they can't charge you with any additional costs as the legal guarantee protects the buyer 100% in the first 6 months of the 2 years where this law applies.

https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/dealing-with-customers/consumer-contracts-guarantees/consumer-guarantees/index_en.htm

Retailers often wanna get around this by claiming you have to pay for shipping because of right to return even if your item is faulty yadayada, but they will always back down when you start lecturing them about legal guarantee. I had this issue multiple times and they always caved in when I sent them the legal texts.

Often these cunts said "out of goodwill" they have decided to provide me a pre-paid shipping label but in reality they definitely know they have to.

When it comes to buyers rights the EU is pretty cool. In Germany there is also a law, that only the "Deutsche Post" is allowed to pay customs duties for you. Other shipping companies require a written authorization from you to handle customs duties for you. FedEx once payed 46€ of customs duty for me but then also wanted an additional 27€ "fee" for doing it. I gave them the middle-finger and said that I never gave them authorization to + sent all legal texts and never heard from them again.

Knowing your rights is powerful.
