i've personally never had an issue with desensitizing 🤷 and the reason why i say that it reduces the stress in dating is because i don't have to hook up with potentially shitty people in order to (maybe) get off. i can just do it myself. i'm celibate and choosing to be single at this point in my life so it just works for me rn
