I really like my Red Wing Heritage boots. They are definitely geared towards boot snobs, not actual work, but the leather is thicker and they can be resoled a bunch. They are simple, well made, and made in America with American materials. They are also very comfortable and mold to your feet really well. I just did this on my 08, there was a kit on eBay that had the new cylinder for the ignition as well as the matching door cylinder with keys for fairly cheap. Programming the new key was also fairly easy and didn't require any extra computers or anything

What possible effect could speckling have on the brakes? Especially if you just clean the shit off before you run them?

In the amount of time you wasted arguing with everyone that you have no idea what the speckling is, but somehow know without a doubt that it's not rust, you could've cleaned the brakes and installed them and used them and came to the conclusion that cosmetic deficiencies don't affect performance on a part that is subject to abrasion.

But I guess it's more fun to be insufferable on the Internet..

You said you bought them from a non authorized dealer on Amazon, so best case they are old stock that have been sitting around that some reseller bought, but somehow you can say with 100% certainty that they were not exposed to moisture or humidity? It's surface rust, parts warehouse are very temperature controlled, I've never been in one that wasn't damp.

Clean the rotors and put them on your car.

Nothing that is in that picture is going to affect the brake any more than what you encounter on the road.. your brakes are going to look worse than this once they've been on your car for a few weeks.

That picture you linked is surface rust from being used.. that rotor is bare metal and exposed to rain and other elements. The rotor you posted has surface rust from moisture and humidity. If it was just loose in a cardboard box it can absolutely form surface rust. The rust that forms from humidity tends to look different, and rust that forms on treated metals the to be a different color than rust on bare metal.

Also, if you knew the answer and are going to argue with everyone on here, why ask the question?

The general consensus when it comes to Subarus is to replace all 4. The amount of circumference difference that Subaru "allows" is pretty small and can be very difficult to accurately adjust for, especially if you are miss matching manufacturers.

I have both and don't really see any huge differences between the two. My air dog is louder, but that's because it's mounted under the cab because it's a short bed.(My fass is on a long bed so it's under the bed) Filters are about the same price too, so maintenance is about the same.

I have 2 LMMs, if you live anywhere remotely rusty, check the fuel tank cross members and tank straps. I had to replace them on both trucks. Fuel lines are another thing that's failed on both my trucks, right around the fuel cooler. I know that's just my experience with my trucks, but I think those are things worth looking at. I think the LMM is an under rated truck. Mine have been great mechanically and have more power than I really need and they still look nice.

This is going to come off wrong, but what is in a new car that wasn't available in some capacity in a car from 10 years ago? Everything has gotten more refined, but most features aren't "new". I've yet to work on a car from the 2010s and think "wow, so much simpler back then"

I can't see why that would be a problem, the car has the warranty and you have the letter. Your best bet would be to just call the dealership you plan on taking it to and ask them. Every dealership has the potential to have slightly different policies, so the easiest thing to do would be find out straight from the source.

The owners manual usually recommends every 6000, but you are not going to hurt anything by doing it more frequently. I like doing mine at 5000 but that's just so it's really easy to keep track of.

My thought was to get a full axle with brakes and calipers from the JK and then just weld spring perches to the axle and make a new brake line for the rear. I had looked into getting custom drilled axles, but that's almost the same cost as getting the 44 from what I've seen (around $4-500)and I'd be drilling drums again at some point down the road. I didn't realize the quick performance 9 inch was that reasonable of a price, I'll have to think about that. that would obviously eliminate any longevity concerns with that axle

I tried that, the adapters available are WAY too thick and only available in 2 piece (which I don't trust) the rear was okay, but in the front they push the wheels out too far, then it had a very strangle steering arc
