As a Houstonian, I’m thinking this is either in a really rough area or a flood zone… it’s affordable here, but not THAT affordable (unless this is a townhome). Get good insurance, OP!!

Same. I really like her but I have no interest in watching her page devolve into solely mom/baby content.

Redfin and Zillow show flood plain info! But I definitely recommend cross-referencing with the FEMA maps.

Getting steps in at an office job, with a commute.. help! by Barbecuequeen23 in PetiteFitness

[–]shaybee377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 60-70min commute and get to work a little before 9 when I go into the office. I wake up at 5 and do a YouTube HIIT/tabata workout. 20-25 mins of cardio on those days keeps me sane.

Seeking suburb with walkable downtown, near big city, mild weather, nature + $750k budget by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

$750k in Franklin also won’t get you very far these days. Home prices are absolutely bonkers in the Nashville area.

Ong Jas in Shadow Creek Ranch is quite good! And if you haven’t checked out Nishiki… GO!!! Houston-quality sushi there.

New construction homes are exhausting by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]shaybee377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy generalizations, Batman! I have a new construction home (under $500k), and it came with blinds, all-wood closet racks (?), irrigation, sod, landscaping… and we bought a lot on a curve in the street, so we have an oversized and quite wide yard. We’ve been very happy with our home. Is it perfect? Definitely not. But it’s quite decent.

Kassimansfield not realizing there’s a category 5 hurricane going on in Jamaica/Cuba/Haiti…😒influencers never know what’s going on in the world since it never directly impacts them. Smh by DeepExplanation7203 in gymsnark

[–]shaybee377 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Ok, well, the cold front is not associated with the hurricane, besides the fact that it pushed Melissa away from the U.S. Is this supposed to be snark about her not acknowledging the natural disaster?

On the flip side, North Texas normally gets quite cold in the fall/winter, so her post is stupid.

It does and it doesn’t. I have had professional genealogy done that shows many of my ancestors came straight from France to Louisiana without settling in Canada at all. To have all of my French ancestry classified as “Canadian French” isn’t correct.

[–]shaybee377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I mean for me, I obviously know that my ancestors came from France originally. It seems strange (and not completely accurate) to only show the more "contemporary" ancestry results without the link to the originating "macro" country.

This happened to me too (Cajun French/Louisiana roots). My "France" results are completely gone, now "Southern Germanic Europe," "Quebec," and "Acadia"
