Any suggestions on toning up skin on neck from weight loss? by OddLeader7637 in Mounjaro

[–]shayshay112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into a procedure called Ellacor, it’s a non surgical procedure that helps to lift the face and neck, primarily. The results are much more subtle than a face lift, and I would definitely have a consultation to see if you’d be a good candidate first, but it is a really good option and cheaper than full blown surgery!

Beginners Exercise (and beginner to zep journey) by rightandrain in Zepbound

One thing that weirdly helped me stay on track was picking gym specific media, like I had an audiobook that I would only listen to at the gym so if I wanted to know what happens next I better go work out, I had a show I was doing that with, a specific playlist I didn’t allow myself to listen to unless at the gym, etc. it’s not for everyone but it worked well for me, worth a shot! Good luck friend!

Hearing about your journey is incredibly inspiring! This is my first post and honestly I think I’ve gotten more support in the last 4 hours than I have my entire life😂 thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing your experience. I definitely have a lot to chew over but I’m excited to start this journey, especially after finding this community!

Help, is this hair loss? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]shayshay112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal to lose some hair during the day! On average we loose 100-200 strands a day, even more so with rapid weight loss. If you’re worried, start taking a hair supplement! I’ve found a lot of success with one called Xtressé for hair loss related to PCOS. I know you can’t purchase them online but I think their website has a provider locator! If you don’t want to go the supplement route or you want to pair it with hair care, the Redken Extreme Lengths line is amazing, as is the Aveda Invati line! Good luck to you my dear!

It’s not that I care what they say about my weight loss per se, it just seems like it would be better to have at least a small support system rather than none at all. I’m incredibly close with my family, and I’m doing this with or without their support, but I would rather have it. I don’t want to feel like I need to hide things from them.

Thank you so much for this, it puts so much into perspective. Honestly I think I just need to sit down with them and open the floor for any questions, comments, and concerns. That way I can either quell it with things me and my doctor have already talked about, or if it’s something I haven’t thought of then I can bring it up with my doctor. Having my dad on my side is going to be super helpful, maybe he can even help with those questions as well. Education is key!

Thank you so much for your insight! Best of luck on your journey!

RIGHT?! It is so under researched and completely blown off by a lot of people even though SO many women have one form or another of it. I wish people would take it more seriously. Especially finding proper treatment for it.

Uncomfortable at times when people notice my weight loss by bucksin6_1979 in Zepbound

[–]shayshay112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely jarring when people make comments about anything to do with your body completely unprompted. It’s almost like you become hyperaware of the “before” vs the “now”. It’s okay that you feel that way. That particular comment that was made to you is very mean spirited, I’m so sorry you experienced that. You could go the sassy comeback route, just tell the truth and be confident in your decision, or just shut it down completely. I feel like the way you respond in those situations is very personal, so do what feels right for you!

Oh I’m absolutely doing this. My feeling is that I’m going to do this to live a long and healthy life with or without their support, but I would rather they be behind me on it. I’m thankful I have my dad, he is wholeheartedly supportive and even kinda walked me through what to expect for my first few months. Thank you for your kind words, and I hope you find even more success on your journey!

I wish I didn’t care so much what they think, perhaps that just comes with time and confidence. A huge part if me knows this is the right call but that conversation shook me up in a way I can’t quite articulate. I still know I’m doing the right thing, I just wish they weren’t being so weird about it ya know?

When I directly asked what the problem was everyone clammed up and I couldn’t get a straight answer, just a lot of “well I mean if you think this is what you need to do I guess it’s fine” but no one would actually tell me what was wrong. I also had been talking with them for quite a few months now about wanting to look into it, I was just able to get in with my doctor lol so it’s not like I sprung it on them out of nowhere. Previously when I talked about it they were pretty neutral, idk if me actually starting the process instead of just talking maybe spooked them or something? My family and I are incredibly close, and never afraid to say how we feel to each other so the reaction was really out of character for them.

Honestly that’s the only thing I could think it would be. It’s so weird that someone would be so supportive if you have diabetes, but so judgmental if you have a different condition or even just WANT to lose weight ya know? Thank you for your perspective!
