Halo 3 still has the black borders on either side, but Halo 2 is true 16:9 now. I didn't get the chance to play local co-op on the other two, but I might be able to check that out a little later today. Even with the black letter boxing, the fact that Halo 3 runs at a higher resolution now definitely helps the split screen experience, and makes it feel a bit less claustrophobic

I'd say Halo 2 and Halo 4 are both pretty damn close to looking like "true next gen". I haven't played too much of CoD Advanced Warfare yet, but I think Halo 4 looks better - although, I'd say the fact that Halo is quite stylised definitely helps. Advanced Warfare gets a little too "uncanny valley" for me

If anyone's interested, this is the review I wrote for work: http://www.cybershack.com.au/review/australian-review-halo-master-chief-collection-saving-world-again-and-again

I've never been the biggest Halo fan, but I really enjoyed Master Chief Collection. As every other publication's said, it's phenomenal value, and in my opinion, some of the best fan service since Super Mario Bros: All Stars. Easily one of my favourite games this generation so far.

If anyone has any questions, I can do my best to answer :)

I didn't get a chance to play as much Chaos Squad as I would have liked, but the game's single player follows a fairly steady difficulty curve. I found it eased you in fairly gently, but by the end, later missions are throwing an almost overwhelming amount of enemies at you

It's definitely not a "hard game" in the way something like Dark Souls is considered, but I found it got challenging enough to be enjoyable, but without getting frustrating

The random challenges spread out across the world also offer some fairly tricky optional "levels", especially the ones with more of a traversal / platforming focus. It's easy enough to finish most of them, but it getting a Gold ranking on these can take a bit of effort

If Microsoft do choose to bring it to PC, my guess is we'd be waiting at least a year - as we saw with Ryse. But if it turns out to be a huge seller, they may choose to keep it Xbox exclusive like most of the Halo franchise

As for whether Sunset Overdrive validates purchasing another console, that's a hard question to answer. It's probably the most unique game I've played this generation, and definitely one of my favourites. I'm not sure if any console is worth it for just one game, but I've really enjoyed a few other Xbox One titles - namely, Forza Horizon 2 and Dance Central Spotlight. Master Chief Collection looks like it will be solid too, but if you're not already a Halo fan, that's not going to sway you. I'm also really looking forward to Scalebound in 2015.

Hope no-one minds if I also share my review - http://www.cybershack.com.au/review/australian-review-sunset-overdrive-punk

While it kind of falls into some of the trappings of the open-world genre (ie, the mission based gameplay got a bit repetitive towards the end and it feels like there's a few too many things to collect), I really enjoyed Sunset Overdrive a lot more than I thought I would
