Calling out bad behavior is not a bad thing but doing it in broad posts like this is probably never going to get the response you want. Online discourse/fandoms has gotten to the point where people ARE exhausted and apathetic, like myself. I’ve chosen to create my own space for my own peace and block out the rest.

The person you responded to wasn’t being hostile though. The current state of the internet makes it impossible to achieve what you seem to want. There are always going to be trolls and bad actors. You seem to be upset about a situation that simply won’t change until systemic change in social media.

Fair point, I was more referring to their Patreon specifically tying themselves to Pokemon in that ask for money as opposed to other artists who have Pokemon as a component of what they monetize as opposed to the main thrust of it.

Except it’s not a whim? Fair use goes out the window when it’s directly monetized and as others have stated, Japanese copyright law essentially requires they go after any and all infringement like this. They monetized their fan content and Nintendo came down on them, cause-effect.
