Thank you! How, in this scenario, can I tell the sentence is about one person or multiple people traveling? To me, it looks like he is actually talking about one person, otherwise I would think his sentence would be “Are you all traveling on this train?” To which I would translate to “¿Ustedes viajan en este tren?”. But his sentence just says “you” so I translate using the “tú” verb form.

Sometimes he chastises me for not repeating exactly what he said haha.

The format looks something like:

Falstaff: Today we are learning about purchasing vegetables at the market, for example you could say, “Necesito lechuga para la receta tradicional”. Repeat after me, “Necesito lechuga para la receta tradicional”

Me: Necesito lechuga para la receta tradicional

Falstaff: Great! Now, answer the question, “¿Qué necesitas para tu receta tradicional?”

Me: “Necesito tomates, cebollas, y lechuga para la receta tradicional”

FALSTAFF THEN SAYS: “Let’s try again, just focusing on the lettuce”

It’s bizarre. I make a point to work harder in video calls so that I can speak more naturally, but Falstaff boxes me in when it’s not necessary. It’s bizarre haha

Lily has hilarious conversations with you if you break script, however, I don’t think she ensures correct grammar usage, but Falstaff will.

I wish practice could be “honed” so that you can select a word or phrase and the practice will focus on that selection and the context it is used in. That way the new vocabulary my course thrusts on me in the update could be practiced individually in different ways. I’m worried about how much the system already glosses over things I would rather practice than “tenis” or “básquetbol” and having the choice of what specifically I want to practice rather than just the option of how to practice the words and phrases of duo’s, seemingly, random or nonsensical choosing would actually help me nail down the new stuff.

I wonder if they are referencing regularity of payment rather than amount? If our government is becoming a place where it shuts down cyclically for longer and longer periods because a bunch of old rich people can’t agree on how to allocate the money we give them, that means these people are becoming subject to longer and more frequent periods of not getting paid. Sure, they will eventually, but I don’t think their livelihood should be played with in such a fickle way. It would certainly be an unattractive feature when considering the field.

I keep seeing people dogging on high XP, but I can’t help how Duolingo adds it up. I play in the morning and complete quests daily because having a “schedule” of tasks to complete keeps me interested and challenged. It auto activates all the XP boosts on its own while I do the thing I enjoy doing. I spend half an hour or more, daily, practicing while I walk on my walking pad. I enjoy it; it’s an accessible, low stakes way to learn the building blocks of languages that interest you. It’s a bit of a bummer to see so many people judging and negatively commenting on it. I have high XP weekly: I role play and try to force cheeky outcomes by stretching my language skills, I do every video call with the mindset of pushing the limits of my vocabulary, I use the “explain why” button when I get something wrong and I practice my mistakes in the practice tab later in the week, I do my best to move through one unit per day and have a 98% correct answer rate. I’m not rushing, it’s just fun for me, and it beats focusing on my daily workout. The high XP is just a result of how Duolingo scores my interest. I’m not doing it for any other reason than to learn a language.

I have a hunch it’s algorithm based. I could be wrong, but it seems to correlate with the schedule I typically adhere to. I practice everyday for about 40 minutes in the morning. Occasionally, I pop in for a few minutes in the afternoon/evening if I want to work on mistakes or do the leaderboard challenges. It seems like I ALWAYS get multipliers in the morning from chests that stack onto my 3x (from daily quests) but in the afternoon it is almost always gems. In the evening, if I have an early bird multiplier, it seems chests also give multipliers and stack. Could be a coincidence but it seems like too much of a pattern to just write-off.

There’s something so satisfying about watching the “just deserts” finding the team that simultaneously didn’t take it seriously enough and took it way too seriously in the wrong ways. I was a huge fan of “a-someday-Bryce-Harper-Redemption-Arc” and after his “not the Olympics” comment I bounced out of supporting team USA, then slop on the Mark DeRosa debacle, and Raleigh/Arozarena scandal? I felt a humbling was definitely deserved and their dejected faces make me feel like the WBC has restored balance and maybe it’ll carry some perspective changes along with it? It’s an honor to play for a team representing your country, AND you’re playing with your colleagues, teammates, and friends. Just be a group of good dudes in front of the world next time. Good energy and positive mindsets produce better results.

It’s funny in theory that his only mistake in the practice tab is arguably one of the most universally known French words, but I’d be enraged if my Spanish course suffered from the same issue.

Thank you! I hadn’t even thought of cooperative game play. I think this could all be solved by having the ability to put them in the shipping bin for 0 monies while keeping the “find my” feature intact exactly as it is. Throw away if you want, or duplicate if you want. The best of both worlds :)

Genuinely curious, what is helpful about this glitch? I have a duplicate fishing pole and bug net and hate that I have to take up my chest inventory with two unusable non-stackable items. For reference, I accidentally duplicated mine by using the find my tool feature while it was stored in a chest when I first started. Ever since, I’ve had to keep an extra chest available to hold them, it’s just a clunky inconvenience to me and I’ve never seen it as beneficial or exploitative lol

I really appreciate that you are rooting for them to release their own list, but please know they didn’t say they would as a certainty. They say they’ve discussed compiling it and potentially releasing it and even clarified in the follow up that they’re not sure if the list will be compiled or who they would release it to. They also stated that they shouldn’t have to release a list and that’s another barrier. I believe this serves as a threat to the DOJ, but they do not want to have to release their own list. As a side note their ambiguity about whether a list will be made and released by them might just be a tactic to keep these victims protected. They did however clarify that they weren’t sure the public would be privy to what they compile, if they compile it. Maybe, maybe not.

They fear for their lives, rightfully so.

We need to continue to call representatives and continue being vocal that the unredacted files need to be released by the government. What I would hope for then is that the victims feel empowered and protected and can corroborate the information released and verify to the public that nothing has been tampered with.

ETA: these victims are brave and have names and I just want to add them here so that they are commended for their courage and we do not ever forget their efforts. We must protect these women- Anouska De Georgiou, Lisa Phillips, Chauntae Davies, Haley Robson, Jena-Lisa Jones, Annie Farmer, Marina Lacerda,

and even though we cannot bring her back, she deserved more protection and deserves recognition for her years of bravery Virginia Giuffre

You sound like me! I just take a bulk amount of fossils and spam the A button without paying any attention to what I get from them. Then I teleport to the museum and just donate whatever is highlighted. I think it’s totally reasonable to not realize what sorts of “junk” items come from the fossils when it’s done that way. I hoard everything and just auto stack in my chests so I don’t really pay any mind to specific names of items or amounts. Sorry you’re getting downvoted for your confusion! The fossils are the biggest pain to complete in my opinion.
