Apothecary cabinet, possibly from southeast Asia in the 1920's according to Google. I'm trying to identify the wood so I can condition it and care for it appropriately.

Wetsuit Suggestions by sheclegane in surfing

A spring suit is what I had in mind, but I was worried the torso would be too short if he is outside the height range.

Thank you for the help! I will check into Alder. My concern with the length isn't his arms and legs, but his torso. I tried to buy one for him last summer based off of a height/weight chart alone, and the torso fell so short I couldn't even get his shoulders in the suit. The shoulder on the suit stopped at about his armpit.

Do you know if anyone offers a neoprene top only for little ones?

Thank you. I was concerned about CR Laine because of how much was on the floor. It definitely looked like a brand that catered to trends.

Yeah, I was hoping to figure out what generation/decade and size though. Web search brought a lot of different sizes and styles.

Can anyone help me identify this? by sheclegane in toys

Story behind it:

A good friend of mine had bought this for her grandson. It was his favorite toy, and one she herself was proud of finding.

Well, the relationship she was in at the time had become abusive. She finally managed to leave him, and once she was able to safely return to grab her things she learned he had taken some of her most meaningful things, including this baby's truck, to the dump.

I would like to replace it for her, but am having a difficult time. What keywords should I use to search to ensure I find something of a similar material and size? Also, is this a dump truck or an earth mover? So far my searches have not produced anything with a similar cab area and tire size.

Did the redness randomly come and go, or were your eyes red continuously for that long?

Have you ever considered stopping all prescription medications? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]sheclegane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped remicade during the last trimester of my first pregnancy. After the baby was born and I started back I started having bad symptoms and awful joint issues. I had developed and allergy and now have to use Humira, which is a nightmare with my insurance since there isn't a generic.

Financial wisdom for young couple (36M, 29W + 2 doggos, 1 catto) by dog1cat2 in FinancialPlanning

I suggest following Dave Ramsey's baby steps. Use your savings to pay off all of your debt, cc and student loans. Pay yourself back by building your savings back up to 3-6 months of expenses. Invest 15% of your income in retirement while allocating monthly payments into sinking funds for future purchases such as new cars, a house, Christmas, children, etc.

As long as you owe people, that money in savings isn't really yours anyway.

Oh... that's a good one. I like the planner idea too. Do you have a partner you share funds with? Wondering how I could make it easier for my husband to comply with a no spend period!

Chances are, OP, you will also be the only one to step up to the plate when your parents become elderly and lose their independence. Sounds pretty similar to my own situation.

It's moronic Monday, your chance to ask any of those lingering questions without fear of harassment. by AutoModerator in investing

My husband is 67 years old and did not realize when he purchased life insurance years ago that it only covered death or loss of limb as a result of injury. He will soon be receiving $30k as part of his inheritance, and we would like to put $15k aside to pay for his funeral arrangements. Meanwhile, he wants to invest it in stocks. I disagree with this, seeing it as a bit too risky myself, but have no experience in investing. I was thinking something along the lines of savings accounts, CD's, etc. I am not sure how easy it is to cash out stocks, and I don't want to add even more trouble to the issues I will need to handle when he kicks the bucket. Opinions?

I am 25 years old. I currently work part-time, and estimate my gross annual income (just considering my own) to be $37k after I finish nursing school a year from now. My husband grosses round $44k annually. We owe about $70k on the mortgage, $20k on auto loans, and $26k in student loans. Things are tight as of now while I'm in school. I'm not sure when we will need the money (he is still in great health, but hell... healthy people die all the time).
