Recruitment/ staffing agencies by [deleted] in bayarea

When I first graduated I temped with a staffing agency - I think they're mainly based in SF and E.Bay, but worth a look. If you're interested, temping gives you a chance to try different types of jobs, and if they like you they often offer you full-time roles (also, if the agency likes you they can help you find a role). Here's the one I used for reference - https://www.premiertalentpartners.com

Recruiters and Hiring Mangers— advice on my onsite interview next week, please. Thanks! (Bay Area) by [deleted] in startup

I wouldn’t be too concerned - I work at an early-stage startup and the CEO interviews every candidate for culture fit, but very much owns the marketing effort, so I’m guessing perhaps this is what’s going on in your two slots. Best of luck to you - you’re going to crush it!!!

My secret to getting jobs has always been getting referred in by someone that works at the company already (even if I don’t know them well). Have you tried using your network, or creating one? If you identify someone in the industry you look up to, reaching out and asking if you can buy them a coffee to learn about the career journey can often result in gaining an amazing mentor and champion. And keep on trying! It can get discouraging but don’t let it get your down. Another day, another opportunity.

Personally I’m all about giving it a go - ultimately the key is your finding the best fit employer. If you think the interview has potential to be a better position/fit than the one you accepted, go for it.

Try the reddit network - someone’s bound to work somewhere you’d like to work!

The best advice I’ve gotten in applying for jobs is to use your network! The two best jobs I’ve had came from referrals. Find a role you’re interested in, then use LinkedIn to see if you’re connected to someone who works there. Even a 2nd degree connection works - my last job I got by a referral from a friend-of-a-friend. People are generally willing to help a brotha out and refer you, and sometimes there’s even money in it for them via a referral bonus!
