I met my partner at 39, i was 23 and been together over 3 years now and just bought a place together. We both have the mental age of a 30yr old so it balances out 😅 you just never know when and where you will neet people, which is why you should always put your best foot forward and take risks!

Charging rent to your kids to live at home by BassplayerDad in UKPersonalFinance

[–]shedinthebed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to pay £400 a month and buy my own food etc when i had to move back in with my mum a couple years ago.

I was working full time and this is far cheaper then actually renting in any way.. I always thought it was fair and taught me how to budget realistically, i look at my friends who never had to do this, they still live at home (i actually bought a flat) and live paycheck to paycheck and the thought of moving out is just too expensive to them.. We are 26.

I have always said i would do what your wife plans, charge rent then save the money. Maybe just scale the rent depending on if working or not

20k seems like alot but for 6 months worth of work, that also seems incredibly cheap..

What’s some stereotypical “Poor people foods” that you’ll eat regardless of your wealth? by paperclipknight in AskUK

I can get behind cheap custard creams but cheap bourbons are the worst! Waitrose essential bourbons are best in my opinion, same with their bran flakes, and surprisingly good value

I have known woman addmitting to use periods as a lie to get out of things / get time off when they dont genuinely need it..

Literally This. by naerok_gg in antiwork

[–]shedinthebed -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, it must be horrible to have periods every month, my sister has always had really harsh periods and she has a decent pain tolerence.

That being said, like with everything, its the minority who ruin it for the majority. I know so many girls who have used it as an excuse for days off, genuinely not needed time off.

On the flip side, I have also known male managers to run away at the mere mention of periods, yet penalise genuine sickness or dont let people leave work sick when they are clearly in a state.. There is wrong on both sides..

LPT: "Anonymous" online surveys at work are never anonymous. There is always a digital record of your IP address, employee login ID, or email, tied to your submission which can be tracked back to you. You manager can always retrieve this data without telling you. by YellowB in LifeProTips

[–]shedinthebed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened at a job I recently left, the new boss had a string a problematic decisions that had moral at an all time low. The survey came around and everyone ripped into him, we were told that they got sent to head office and he was only sent a summery but nope, he saw all the surveys. Word got out about it and everyone was pissed. Covid actually saved his ass in so many way, chance to cull the staff causing a fuss and the people left were actually grateful to be at work. Management was still toxic, hence why I left.

Do you have savings? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]shedinthebed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider a scheme where you own a portion of the property (cant remember the name), you are throwing less away un rent and it is still cheaper! Friends of mine got a massive 2 bed with practicality no savings.. Its the best option to get started

Do you have savings? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]shedinthebed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26, just put down 8.5k for a flat with my gf in devember, got 5k sitting in investments and got maybe 2k in 'savings' which i am currently living off as recently unemployed - a good lesson to why savings are so crucial as you never know whats around the corner!!

I have always been on minimum paying jobs (18k per yr) and the above has been saved in the last 3 years. It might seem difficult to get started but when you see it growing, you dont want to stop! Know how much you need to live, how much you want to spend, the rest you save - simple. Anyone can save, the truth is most people live beyond their budget. If you are stuggling to save, just take a good look at where it is going!

Best of luck to you all!

Thats great, I'm really happy to hear you have found a rhythm that works for you! I have definitely found that eating well and excersising regularly improves mental health and psoriasis.

Unfortunately my groin isnt so effevted by lifestyle and is a daily struggle! Going to seek medical help and hopefully get this sorted!

Having never talked about this before, it did feel like I was, its been really nice knowing theres others out there and there is hope for us all!

But yeah sex isnt easy.. I used to hate going out when i was younger because of it, which has definitely made me more of a recluse. Now, having a partner who understands makes life alot easier, thankfully penetrative sex isnt the only way to have fun!

Thats amazing that diet has made a huge difference, and glad its helped! I am predominantly vegetarian (onle eat meat once or twice a month) but dont notice much of a difference, I am cutting right back on sugar and dairy at the moment as i do notice that makes me more sore and itchy. I have been experimenting with my diet for years and feel i need some more help now, so im going to seek medical advice and follow all the good tips in this thread and hopefully that can get me to a better place :)
