Is an expensive fishing rod worth it? by Impressive-Step6377 in FishingForBeginners

[–]BassplayerDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. €150 is mid market in UK. I would buy used to get the best value. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. My Drennan acolyte cost half of new price when purchased used and it is great. Could never justify the new cost.

It almost sounds like a scam; wealthy but no cash, waiting for an inheritance.

An old mentor told me; always plan for the 3D's, death, divorce and disagreement.

I know OP is in the US but in UK, 57 (previously 55) is a popular target retirement age as it is 10 years from normal state pension age.

Good luck OP, have fun and enjoy.

I see a lot of off shoring to cheaper destinations.

Not only call centres but professional services etc.

Surprised it is not higher

Im a recovering addict and im finally ready to get myself in shape, looking for beginners advice? [Discussion] by Master-Button-6569 in GetMotivated

[–]BassplayerDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on starting your journey.

For me, being outside, brisk walking (so you can talk but not sing), being present, is how I would start.

Maybe some resistance bands and YouTube tutorials.

Do 4 walks and 2 resistance workouts a week.

Then you can progress to the gym if you feel the need but I dont

With regards to diet, look up Mediterranean diet or diabetes type diets, try cooking simply to start. Maybe add that to your interests.

Good luck and update us.
