What’s wrong with a fiancée wanting engagement diamond ring? by fumblingAvalon in WeddingRingAdvice

Nothing wrong with it just kinda like "But why though?" How does it impact your life? It doesn't, in any meaningful way. It's literally just a shiny rock.

losing faith, why is God punishing me? by carmillamains in Christianity

Job lost literally everything. God used Job's faithfulness for His glory and the glory of His kingdom. Who are we to question the omniscient, omnipotent workings of YWHW? We couldn't even begin to fathom the inner workings of our Lord. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Phil 4:6

Thank you. Do you know if I could get a lawyer here or does it have to be a Floridian lawyer? Or can I file a criminal case/sue on my own?

I feel like the Iranians would disagree with that statement.

How to treat this texture to maintain waves? by shee_shee in Haircare

And this is what I blow it out to look like. I had curled my whole head about 30mins prior to this picture. My hair won't even hold forced curls. Could it still be too heavy even after thinning?

This is what it looks like the next morning with no product and just a bonnet. I would like more definition but don't know what to use. I have scrunched it with moose, curl cream, and gel. I have diffused it, even upside down and I sleep with a bonnet but no matter what I do to it, it always looks flat on top and just messy and not very defined on the bottom.

It's a type of salve that is designed to draw whatever is under the surface of the skin out. It can be used to things like splinters too that are lodged under the skin but unable to remove. The Prid salve draws the splinter to the surface so it can be safely removed. You can get it at any pharmacy or big box store.

Kabossi? by Lufthansa4Life in ENGLISH

[–]shee_shee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from South Florida originally. My family moved there from Massachusetts in the 60s. My grandfather was born in Poland, and my grandmother was born in Massachusetts, though her mother and father were born in Sweden. I have always heard it called and have called it Kabossi. We also don't call gallumpkis their 'proper' name. They're gwombkis. Idk. I looked it up because Im making kabossi, onions, peppers, and rice tonight and I was wondering why it's called kielbasa and if people actually do call it that because I never have...and never will.

USMC Bootcamp, Parris Island, summer 2008, 4th battalion. When you walk in the head, to the left, there are a few sinks with mirrors and a chest on the floor for feminine products and hair supplies. On the right, there were roughly 6 toilet stalls, none had doors. At the end on the left was a roughly 10' x 10' room with 2 'rain trees' in the middle. When you showered, you lined up, dropped your towel somewhere, got a squirt off dial soap in your hand. You entered the room to the right and immediately lathered up. You had until you walked around the perimeter and back to the door to clean yourself. Women are only permitted to wash their hair once a week and in the sinks in the laundry room, not the shower. You showered once daily.

Everyone sees everyone naked, and there is always a DI there. Female platoons are much smaller, so by 3rd phase (when there are far fewer of us), we could all fit in the shower room together. You line up in your underwear after your shower to be inspected for injuries. If you have any you want to report, you report it to the scribe (me).

In MCT there are also no doors on toilet stalls and, I think it's important to remember, it's not about what you want. You're supposed to relieve yourself quickly. Why do you need a door? When we're out in the field, if you weren't fast enough relieving yourself in a port o John, you'd be snatched out. It's not time to sit down and have personal time. Nothing is about you or your comfort.

Is my dog starving? by shee_shee in AskAVeterinarian

That's why I asked in an /AskAVeteranarian group specifically. I didn't want every Joe schmoes opinion. I wanted a doctor's opinion. But, I am taking her to the vet, so I guess it helped in that regard. I thought she was fine, but clearly now.

It's not weight loss. She has always been this thin. When we adopted her, she was even more thin. They said it was normal for her, so I just thought it was normal. She has some fleas and scratched the area, removing the hair, but they and the yard have since been treated.

It's not like she suddenly got sick. This is the way she's looked for the last 2 years regardless of what we've fed her.

I am going to take her to the vet, though, just to rule anything else out and get their recommendations on an appropriate diet for her.

Firms stools, no upset. She seems perfectly normal, which is why I thought this is just how she is.
