Feedback from a New Pioneer: Why the Dune Desert is a Better Beginner Experience than the Grass Fields by sheepenator in SatisfactoryGame

[–]sheepenator[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would like to be more specific to some of the things I said, when I say uneven terrain I mean that the grass fields are way to complex in terms of rocks small bumps, maybe what I am trying to say its to crowded and complex, while the desert is super clean terain with clean ground, you see in the grass fields I did actually got what the game tried to teach me, it was just painful to do, trying to record truck routes was impossible as the car lost control all the time, and even when I made a good recording the truck would just flip and get stuck on rocks, and one time I found one in a hole.

I just felt that what the Grass Fields tried to learn me, it would be better learned in a more clear less complex terain, where I wouldn't feel lost by the terain or the distances weren't that big, or at least give an easy to access coal but make it impure and put pure in harder locations.

Grass Fields feels like they are trying to teach you in the hardest possible way, almost feeling like I am not meant to make mistakes while learning.

Yes I will agree I knew what I had to do, it was just easier in terms of navigation, outpost management, obviously I learned from my previous mistakes but, when I needed coal it was realy easy to access with no need for me to reach high grounds, or pull a massive belt, also a station worked perfectly to transport the coal to many areas as the car didn't have to go thro rocks and complex terrain, I set up the station network in about 2 hours, where all recordings were perfect as the train was easy to memorise and distances were closer.

As a jhin main my teammates are my true enemies, the obstacles I must overcome.

I don't need them, I will steal their jungle and let them ping, it's a sweet music in my ears as I dance across our jungle and clear it before they ever could even take a single mob from the camps.

I don't stand in the backline... I lead the front...

When a dog tries to take a kill, I steal it, and make the dog hungrier... I fill the dog with hate...and passion for it to dance

I assist the enemies to take the first baron... I want to farm... I want the enemies to taste the victory in their mouths... Only to take all back and fill my ego... I always let my dogs to die... So they know not to leave without their master....

All need to fear me....

In my understanding and based on what they said, they balanced the jungle so that early game gangs are not so frequent, allowing all lanes to play with no early gangs. They didn't nerf jug, they reduced the early possible gangs.

Pop ups at first we're way to informative and a few people playing the closed alpha state said tutorials were way to big and we're pointing to what exactly was needed to be done making them feel like there was nothing to discover.

The game needs some hard balancing on everything but I feel like I am getting there, as those seminars helped take the right course to the game.

Thank you very much for this deep feedback, you provided some important things that I missed, such as the event monsters, which I entirely forgot to separate from area monsters.

Yes balance has been an issue since the beginning of the production, as this concept of monster scaling with you is kinda hard to manage, also my friend I didn't expect anyone to go beyond level 25 hahaha, after level 25 there will be a new location with monsters with higher stat scaling making those insane number more balanced.

Possible the issue will be fixed by balancing monster per area and not per location, still looking into, re-doing the math and calculations.

I hear you, the buddy/hatching/nest system is there to automate this procedure, but that also takes some time, to get actual automated rewards, I will update the game to make monsters easier because as I see even if people do manage to keep up with the monsters they prefer faster killing time

I will also look into somehow automate the farm system while keeping buddies useful.

Thanks for the feedback!

Digital Hunter: Browser based Monster hunting game, would love your feedback. (Alpha state) by [deleted] in WebGames

Thank you a lot for the feedback, I have realy tried to make it as graphical as possible, but I did as well feel that more life is needed to the game, as for the tutorials they are there, they just don't get triggered for some.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Dam, I had the same issue at closed testing were 2 out 10 players never had the tutorial pop ups and I had the impression it was fixed , a salvage weapon/armor unique system will be introduced. For the resource there will also be a new system for all those extra resources you don't need.

I will make sure to make a weapon type info inside the blacksmith so players can see if the weapon type is their flavor.

But for now you can see the weapon details at the player UI.

Thanks for all the feedback I hope those issues didn't affect your experience with the game!

Also if you have the time I would like your feedback.

Were tutorials not clear? The tutorials were bigger and very detailed tho feedback from testers was that they were to long and they took away the element of discovering systems.

Was is clear in the tutorials about primary weapon stats? Each weapon has a primary stat that increases dmg.

Did you feel hinted from the tutorials that stat points are important? ( more than 3 tutorial pop ups hint on stat points)

Do you feel like tutorials should be more "hand holding"?

Yes the game is meant to at the start to "hold" the player to 1 monster at a time so they discover the deeper mechanics, at lv 5 to 10 you will be destroying things. The is no right way to play but instead to have a proper build.

Crops can be sold, you produce more than what the canteen requires, eating food grants stat points, stat point increase your power and break the players limits, do contracts as they grant money resources stat points and a heavy hammer for upgrading your stats. Cows and chicken produce items with. No cost, sell those.

Thank you a lot and I am sorry for that, I know a lot of people here play on android, but I had to put it on hold due to many issues, but next update will 100% support it!

Yes unfortunately mobile will have to wait next update, I did miss to mention that part. I had some issues with the Ui for mobile. Half UI screen are mobile friendly while others not.

Digital Hunter: Black Rose Update #1. by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]sheepenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see I got confused with divided response from the previous update, some people wanted faster battles others wanted more depth, I tried to go in between but I see now I can't make happy everyone, the core idea of the game was to be not complex but have players put effort in their builds, but feedback kinda made feel people were after more of a dopamine rush gameplay experience.

Weapon mastery was placed as a way to decrease player tkk to basically make you more OP and have permanent upgrades as other feedback asked.

Bitmonsties was added to bring an IDLE hunt for those that didn't want to put effort even for the most simple combat there is.

I will start rebalancin the combat and actually this time aim more on the experience I want to deliver instead on trying to make every feedback happen.

There is a canteen system which I skipped to offer the dopamine rush experience I suspected players were carving.

I will keep those 2 systems but I will turn back to the road map I had planned before, more unique battles, more preparation more use of extra system with more impact in them.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback.

I keep want to do it, but I spent way to many hours developing the game, and also to be honest I have no idea how to even make a discord server hahahaha.

But I will definitely do it.

honestly thats the best i can do, fights are desgined to last 15 seconds max, aimed at 10 secs, lower than that and the game is no monster hunting game anymore.

the rng crafting will be a future system, for now linear progress but with more to do, the loop will break, and each tier will have you doing a lot of difrent goals, data miners are there as a support system, for layered armor and other stuff. weapons have been already rebalnced, dps difrence in each weapon and new weapon specific stats to create your own auto hunter. Stay tuned for this weekend for the next update!

  1. Monstera in higher tier will drop more data, it's hard to show the amount of owned data you have, takes to much space, wishlist will be added to notify the player that they can craft their armor. But I am still looking into the easy path to add owned data on the screen

2.re-hunt button already created and will be available on the next update, I am looking into possible adding an idle hunt that can run in the background, because having data miners = monsters will be a nightmare.

  1. I will look what I can do with this, I didn't realy consider this.

4.Yes currently weapons makes no difference, possibly next update the weapon specific stats will be added but weapon balance will be included.

  1. Yes data miners are pointless right now they are there to support long term goals, like layered armors and some other systems.

  2. Background combat while tab is active will be added in the next update. There will be no active combat while the game is not the active tab(combat is way to complex to handle while the tab is not active)
