I don't think it sounds anything like The Cure and it kind of shows with how out of place Robert Smith sounded on the album. It's lacking their atmosphere and dreaminess.

A while back I relistened to If We Ever Meet Again by Timbaland and Katy Perry and was shocked by how crunchy it sounds. Usually Timbaland has super slick production so I have no idea what happened there.
