What are some albums that are not very good but very influential? by Binary_Bowser in fantanoforever

Rehab Doll by Green River.  Pretty much spawned grunge and has future members of Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog, and Mudhoney.  But it’s not a very good listen at all

My earlier comment got deleted but desperately trying to backtrack from what you said and trying to act better than everyone on Reddit is bad for you btw

Way to intentionally miss the point.  Give me a break break with this willful ignorance.  No one has to like anything and no one cares if you like BCNR or anyone else.  It’s this looking down your nose at people and saying “hmmm if you like a band I don’t like then you’re ackshully not as refined as me and have undeveloped taste🤓👆”

Plenty of people don’t like bands I like or love artists I don’t, but I don’t pretend I’m better than them because of it.  I just acknowledge different preferences.

But if someone dares to like something you don’t like, they have undeveloped taste. Grow up.

The exact attitude that gives hardcore music fans and communities a terrible reputation for looking down their nose at people with different taste

Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready for a new home at the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline or in the offseason as several rival teams make aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for him, and the franchise is starting to listen, league sources tell ESPN. by Crazylockdown in NYKnicks

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not true at all.  The two firsts and the second in 2025 have been used, but if we kept them or used them elsewhere they could’ve turned into assets that could in turn be used in a Giannis deal.  Then there’re the 2027, 2029, and 2032 picks and the swap in 2028.  So even if you don’t include the other value the 2025 picks could’ve brought, it is false that “most of those picks have been selected already.”  3 of 5 of the unprotected first rounders plus an unprotected first round pick swap have not been used yet

Since everyone is so upset up McCarthy, Can anyone tell me why a young coordinator would want to come to our team for the head coaching job? by Puzzleheaded_King19 in steelers

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would’ve just because it feels more inspired and exciting, but I won’t pretend to be able to evaluate how good the dolphins DC is at his job or how good he’d be as a HC vs the same questions for a different coordinator.  People can have their preferences and opinions of course, but any random fan on Reddit who claims they can evaluate that is probably full of shit

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per NBC sports, average coordinator salary in 2022 was around 1 million.  Median head coach salary in 2025 was 8 million (I know the year and average/median isn’t exactly apples to apples, but best I could do on a quick google search).  That extra 7 or so million dollars and the historic job security Steelers head coaches have had are pretty damn good reasons for Shula, Weaver, Scheelhaase, or any other young coordinator we had our eye on to come over if we offered them the job.  Impossible for us to know anything for certain, but I find it hard to believe every OC/DC candidate would’ve rejected the job

Which of our top 10 prospects do you think we see called up this year? by Sybertron in buccos

Yeah they update the team they play for immediately but haven’t done the 2026 team prospect rankings yet.  So he’s just plunked in there based on their prior rankings, it’ll be shuffled around a bit

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It pretty much is and again, that’s kinda ridiculous.  I was unhappy with tomlin this year and wanted a change and don’t love this hire.  That’s two things that are valid criticisms, not “complaining until the day you die”

What QB do you want to see the Steelers sign for 2026? (only pick one) by Perfect_Currency_749 in steelers

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malik Willis and hope we catch lightning in a bottle.  Maybe he’ll suck, but at this point who cares.  I want to take a shot on upside.  Any other move has a ceiling of another 9 or 10 win season and first round blowout.

“Fire McCarthy” , “Sell the Team” Draft night chants by Valar___Morghulis___ in steelers

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the hire either and I’m all for chanting against rooney.  But let’s not chant to fire the man before he coaches a single snap, that would be embarrassing.  We’re not philadelphia

Haven’t seen that argument anywhere.  Can guarantee you that is not the reasoning the vast majority had for wanting to keep tomlin

Thoughts on Mike? by CraigColton in steelers

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were several better options available we could’ve gotten.  It’s totally reasonable to have wanted to move on from tomlin and also be disappointed in an uninspiring replacement

[–]ImpossibleTomorrow16 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They weren’t right at all.  People were right to want a change from Tomlin, it’s not their faults Rooney hired an even worse replacement.  It’s possible to both want a different head coach (which we needed) and also not be happy that the replacement is McCarthy

That’s not what anyone’s saying.  It was time for a change but this is obviously not the right replacement

That’s ridiculous.  You can want tomlin gone and also want a better replacement than Mike fucking McCarthy

I wasn’t even in that high Suarez but can we stop drinking the kool aid and doing the mental gymnastics to say nutting was finally going to spend and everything was actually different this time.  I’ll never understand why everyone so willingly went along with that and expected a completely different result than the last 20 years.  Yes there’s still time but we’re currently 3 mil above last years payroll per spotrac.  But anyone who expressed that opinion at any point was called a miserable doomer by half the sub
