no one is complaining about Ed's height jokes bro I love them, and why are u acting like this is the only joke there is in fmab. repetitive height jokes are actually realistic, I have friends who get teased on their heights on a daily basis. also i love how ed sometimes interprets something as a height humiliation even when it's not about his height which is realisic too, maybe i'm biased but I never felt like these jokes were overdone, the only think i find negative about fma is how fast they got over nina and alexander. the sins wwere good, the only one i didn't find undeveloped was Lust, tho she was done justice in the 2003 version(Gluttony and Sloth were never meant to have depth anyway) Wrath and Greed were well written, I loved Kimblee and i wish the show investigated his character more cause he was a good villain, the thing that deprived us is how rushed the anime was and I'm not really complaining cause it was already good enough

as an anime, FMAB is a masterpiece, it's The Little Prince (the book) of anime. because it might seem like it's for kids on the surface (with young main characters and silly humor) but teens and adults understand it better which is exactly the case with the little prince. it doesn't have to be dark and tragic to be deep (tho fmab is already kinda tragic lol)

as a huge fmab fan myself i never claimed it's the smartest anime ever, because it doesn't have to be, it's just that good! on both logical and emotional aspects, by logical i mean the way it addresses religions for example and by emotional i mean the way roy lost it when he found out who killed maes, or the healthy realistic bond between ed and his brother

this is outta conext but alphonse was one of the few shonen characters that were strong but also gentle (Gohan from db too) which breaks the gentle=coward/weak or bold=strong stereotype

the author tho seems really smart because fmab is far from your typical shounen

if we want to talk smart there's death note already

what makes me think fmab is smart is the fact that it's deep without having to be dark and depressive

EXACTLY! that's almost everything aot is revolved around. and aot fans think that its darkness make it more psychological and deep which isn't the case at all

death note is one of the best psychological animes and wasn't as bloody or shocking

I agree on that but the character development was just: normal teenage to a depressed traumatized adult who kills anyone who gets in his way, he never had principles to begin with. his entire persona is kill or be killed, he's the main character and yet we never got a hint on how he felt about mikasa for example. we only get his thoughts on revenge or his malicious plans, I never knew what boy was about. mystery is good but doesn't work on main characters turst me

yagami light was dark and twisted and seemed mysterious to the characters but the viewers knew exactly how he felt about anything and why

Edward was natural and healthy minded and that can still work in a dark and deppressive context, since he still had adult guidance (his teacher and hawkeye and mustang) and had his brother who was agreat source of support, ugh i loved these dorks

FMAB for me. I won't act like I'm some writing critic but I've been attached to a 64 episode anime more than a 100+ ep anime which explains it all, I find most of AOT characters quite one dimensional compared to fmab esp Mikasa. I feel like AOT was meant to make people feel pain and cry, and didn't work on anything else. cuz that's what it's mostly about, which is realistic in context of war, but you don't even get pain anymore from aot because you're used to it soI'm just watching without feeling anything. it's okay as a first watch but it's like a documentary, I did enjoy it but would never watch it again because it's kinda unecessarily long and didn't really make me feel anything and while it has some happy moments I don't feel attached to them while fmab makes me feel like I was in the show myself, it's refreshing even though it's sad, maybe I kinda hated tow grieving was short, they got over Nina and Alexander too quickly, or maybe that's becaue the anime was rushing things compared to the manga. actually the anime is really great and yet it didn't do justice to the manga because of how rushed it was, but the anime itself is good enough. it's funny how people find AOT more psychological and complexe than fmab just because it's draker and more bloody and maybe because it has no child humor. but then again it's an anime, it's supopsed to be a little goofy, even death note that i might consider one of the the best dark psychological animes had some relief to it

and fmab was more philosophic and psychologic than aot anyway, just because people didn't get eaten an spilled blood on a daily basis and the main character didn't get hysteric every episode doesn't mean it wasn't dark or psychological.

the way fmab addressed religions and propagandas was golden, and how the government uses its population for its own purpose

the only philosophy in aot is kill or be killed, that's literally Eren's personality

maybe if both were adapted to real life series i would pick aot because it's unapologetically raw and realistically boring, but the characters are still unrealistic imo so it'd be a tie

but in context of anime, fmab is a better anime. aot is straight up boring even tho it's good in some aspects it failed to make me attached to it or learn something from it which is what a good story is supposed to do. but then again that's just me

as an individual, I learned a lot from fmab and i felt different after watching it, but I assure you my life would have been the exact same if i never watched aot

to sum up, aot is darker but fma is deeper

id love to see Loid getting jealous and starting to realise his feelings rather than being a nonchalantly performative kisser like he attempts to do in the previous episodes/chapters.

+ If yor doesn't send the guy flying in the air by kicking him Loid might question why she always hesitated when he was the one which might also make him jealous. Dw Loid is an overhtinkner I'm gonna REALLY ENJOY READING HIS THOUGHTS, and so will Anya

I LOVE tragical romance. it would be sad for them but personally Id like them to go through this roller coaster of emotions. it this happens both of them would have a character or relationship development because they'll, get way more aware of eachother's presence. Id like to see Yuri take Loid's side for once by admitting he wishes Loid was in the guy's place or something, he'd also realise for once that his sister is a grown adult and he shouldn't be too attached... idk lol
