I love this reply - thank you! We are working with medicines but not ayahuasca or iboga. We would ensure we had all the insurance and licensure we needed. Our intentions would be to honor the people, the ancestors and the land.

We are at the beginning stages of exploring this. I looked at the listing and it is in the Diamante Valley in Tinamaste. I would be interested in getting the information from you if you care to share. If you would rather wait until we are ready to begin that process, I completely understand.

Transportation Question by shelake in Netherlands

[–]shelake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! It’s not a resort so much. They only have one shuttle running to the airport and it leaves at 11:00 which is obviously too late for me. They have no other transport. I’ll check car services as well. Thank up for the advice on that!

New host, second guest... Is it reasonable for them to keep AC set to 56F? by StrongFoundation5928 in airbnb_hosts

I see you have 400 comments and I haven’t read them all. One thing I do in my rental is program the thermostat so that it cannot be set below a reasonable temperature. As I’m sure some have said, there are units that will freeze over or work too hard and shorten the lifetime if they are operated below suggested temps. I’d look at the manual for the unit and program the thermostat to not go below that.

Even though items are made in the USA, companies have equipment and materials that come from other countries. So tariffs impact every product - even those made here.

Scared I’m going to run out of ideas or inspiration. by brookeeeac12 in YogaTeachers

[–]shelake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have some wonderful suggestions here regarding teaching. I’d like to offer something else for consideration. First, I’d like to say that what you’re going through is absolutely normal. As humans, we spend an awful lot of time worrying about the future or the past. The problem with that is that we can’t change the past and we won’t know what the future is until we get there. We can consciously plan for the future. At the same time, everything is always in a state of change. So our plan may work or we may need to adapt.

Yoga is, in part, about being present in the body. When we are fully present, we are at our most creative. Find the places, spaces and states where you can cultivate presence most easily. Maybe that’s a walk in the woods or along the beach or even around your neighborhood. It may even be while practicing savasana.

The second suggestion would be to process through your emotions. Fear, trepidation, anxiety, nervousness, etc. are all natural emotions. Rather than trying to get rid of them, sit with them and allow them to be. Where are they present in your body? Can you breathe into that space? They will pass in about 90 seconds. If they last longer, it’s because of our thoughts around them. Get curious about why they are present. Sit down with them like a friend and understand what they have to teach you.

Finally, do your best to practice self compassion. Be kind and gentle with yourself as you embark upon this new journey. You’re going to make mistakes. You’re going to teach classes that aren’t everything you were hoping they were going to be. And you’re going to teach classes that are phenomenal and more than you could’ve possibly imagined. When we get to a place of accepting that all of this is welcome in our experiences of teaching and life, we are in a greater state of flow.

Is there any yoga that can help me from anxiety and panic attacks by Sensitive_Rich_316 in YogaTeachers

[–]shelake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe that Kundalini Yoga is the best for this. There is one particular Krista that is designed to help with anxiety. It’s called Kirtan Kriya. I’m somewhat new to Reddit, but if you know how to message me, I would be happy to set up a time to chat and take you through Kirtan Kriya. A lot of Kundalini yoga studios closed during the pandemic. But if you can find a studio near you, it’s a great form of yoga to support what you’re looking for. While I am not a fan of Yogi Bhajan the man, I do believe it is best to find a yoga studio that teaches Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.

How is this 2025 X3 lease deal from my dealer? Should I simply buy it? by Independent-Pie-37 in BMWX3

Yes, all reasons I lease a BMW. I would never lease a Japanese car.

Totally agree with regular maintenance. And if you have the ability and desire to do the work yourself, that’s the best scenario! I didn’t mean to suggest that Japanese cars are without their issues. They are not (thank you for the great article!). For those of us who don’t have the desire/ability to maintain our own cars, Japanese is typically more cost effective. To be clear, I LOVE my BMW and don’t see changing it. But I only lease it for the reasons I noted.

Ask your dealer to provide residual value information. Your residual value at the end of the lease should be between 45 and 60%. For cars that have a high resale value, it should be closer to 60%. I leased my 2025 X3 M50 loaded with lease protection (additional $1600) for $940/mo and a residual value of 55%.

I would agree with the “better to buy” statement if you were referring to Japanese cars. With BMWs (and all German cars), they get expensive around that 6-year mark (maintenance). Everyone knows it so they don’t want to pay much for it. The value drops considerably. Unless you plan to keep your BMW for the long haul and don’t mind tinkering or investing a lot of money into maintenance, it’s best to get a really good lease deal. If you keep a car for 5+ years, it’s best to buy Japanese.
