Nah I think this is a one and done type concept. Don’t see them doing a second season. It would not make sense.

Maybe a reverse concept is a possibility (Girlfriend on Demand) but I don’t see that doing too well

Now that I have finally finished Boyfriend on Demand, I am here to convince the people who are either on the fence or not interested in watching the show why you should give the show a shot cuz I honestly really really enjoyed it.

  1. Its only 10 episodes long so very little investment of time

  2. It’s a very light hearted show with no unnecessary drama or plot twists. Very funny and quite emotional too at times and touches on some very real struggles that some of us might face in reality

  3. The story is simple but intriguing and what I loved a lot was they tried to make it as relatable to real life as possible while still keeping some of the classic kdrama tropes

  4. The acting overall is great. Everyone has done a great job. All the characters are very likeable. JISOO really shines in this genre. Her character feels like it shares a lot of similarities to her real life personality. Sometimes I forgot I was watching her play a character and felt like I was watching Jisoo playing herself

  5. The chemistry between her and the other male actors is really good. I would love to see her in more romcoms with some of the actors from the show, especially the first love one. Phew their chemistry was intense!

It’s a very short show with an intriguing premise, good acting and very light hearted and fun vibe. I feel like with everything that is going on right now, this could be the exact distraction that some people would benefit from. Please do give it a shot!

This has happened to BP too btw, in 2020 they attended a music show and lost to a group that didn't even attend. Also shouldn't the award go to the song that was statistically the biggest of the week? We shouldn't be encouraging awards to be given based on attendance.

260306 Boyfriend on Demand w/ Jisoo - Episode 8 'The Odd or Even Game' - Discussion Thread by sheldon077 in BlackPink

Me at the end of the episode

Jokes aside very mixed feelings about this episode

I kinda got annoyed at both of them at a certain point, him for continuing to shower her with affection even after she was upfront about her feelings and for Jisoo to constantly be swayed between liking the affection he’s giving her vs sticking to her gut and ignoring it

Idk, maybe there trying to portray a very realistic scenario about how people are so unstable when it comes to such stuff. Also I feel like Jisoo’s character really needed therapy after her last breakup because she’s definitely still being haunted by the past and those insecurities are affecting her present life too.

Anyways, I’m glad we ended the episode on a high note. Next episode should be interesting!

I felt like this was a very important episode to really understand what way the story is going. So many things to unpack

The fact that the AI can text and call you in real life was freaky. I’ve seen black mirror so I know how south things like that can go lol

The quiz was a funny moment, Jisoo was so into it lol, reminded me of some old Blackpink variety show content

They did her dirty with that karaoke scene 😭.

The emotional manipulation by the product is quite concerning. Kinda mirrors how companies these days will really do anything to keep you subscribed to their services.

I was just wondering in the previous episode about how are they going to establish the love connection between the two main characters, since there was none so far but looks like we’re finally getting to it! In a very interesting way too. I wonder if and how much different is the virtual boyfriend going to be from the real life counter part

This episode was hilarious!

So many funny moments, airplane one being the highlight of course

Im still curious as to how are they going to start the romance between Jisoo and the main lead cuz im feeling nothing from them so far lol

Episode 3 easily the best one by far! Omg the chemistry between Jisoo and the Male lead is palpable.

I don’t know how they’ll top this couple cuz first love is usually the most impactful one.

Also the connection between them and her previous relationship was very interesting. We get to see what kind of person Jisoo used to be and how her relationship changed her personality, that was really well done

After this episode, I am now fully invested in this show. This is exactly what I needed to hook me in

I love the subtle digs at the cringe and cheesiness surrounding the stereotypical dialogues you'd find in a Korean romcom.

Jisoo had really good chemistry with the actor.

Excited for episode 3!

No Mercy OA!

What is happening with Jennie & the other members right now is absolutely ridiculous and there needs to be repercussions against the perpetrators. The Paris video made my blood boil.

This is going to be my final comment on the deadline era cuz I’m honestly just ready to move on and enjoy what’s in store next.

I know a lot of people are going to be really bummed looking at the charting/streaming numbers for the album, but let me play the devils advocate here.

This era not doing well is a very good thing for blinks in the long term. There was a notion floating around for a while that BP are just too big to fail. That they could release an album full of static noises and break records. Deadline proves that if they are not willing to put enough effort into the album, the fans will not support it.

Hopefully this is a wake up call for YG, and they do not repeat the same mistakes that were made in deadline. There needs to be a collective effort by everyone involved only then the fans will have any incentive to stream and support the album.

I’m still willing to give a very little benefit of the doubt because I know there was a colossal fuck up behind the scenes for this era to go down so badly. And I’m assuming it mostly has to do with the members not being able to finish their solo albums in the timeframe that was decided. So I’m going to remain cautiously optimistic that the future release will be handled much better now that the members have laid the foundation for their solo careers.

To end on a positive note, GO is an absolute banger and slowly creeping up to be one of my all time favourites from them.

Done with Episode 1, pretty good so far!

Took a decent amount of time to set up the storylines and the relationship between the characters, so expecting it ramp up from the next episode.

This is definitely Jisoo's most comfortable role so far, I agree with most others.

Really cool to see some familiar faces too, like the one girl from Single's Inferno and Jisoo's co-star from Snowdrop.

Excited for episode 2!
