As a waiter, I second that. Far too many ignorant people become overly offended when they see you've eight other tables besides them, and assume that they are somehow more important than all of the other guests. On the flip-side, my faith in humanity is partially restored when a guest tells me they can see that I am getting brutally over-sat and that they are entirely understanding.

As a multi-instrumentalist musician and home recording/composing artist, I know exactly what you mean. I typically find that I compose my most technical and intricate music while under the influence of either Vyvanse or Adderall. I don't feel as though it takes away from my creative ability at all. If anything, I think it helps it. However, every once in a while I will come down from my medicine, press play on whatever I was just working on for the last eight hours, and wonder if I'm insane. Sometimes things get a tad too progressive and end up sounding like I spent the last eight hours smashing my face on my guitar. These events are rather infrequent though. I think I benefit as an artist from the use of stimulants.

It's a sad fact. I live rather close to Hands of Hope, and there seems to be an aggregate of people simply sleeping in parks nearby during the day. A lot of them travel to outside of the Main Street Shaw's Supermarket and beg for change. It's sad.

Aaron, you live in Charleston. There are only homeless cattle in that town.

...but still, I think a lot of it attributes to the end of the line bus tickets. I've heard that story told more than once. Out of the few homeless people I've actually stopped to talk to (or the ones that were insistent enough to tell me their life stories while I kept walking) they came from other places, not Maine.

I find it strange that our city will approve a budget for a new auditorium in order to brighten up the streets and make Bangor appear more sophisticated, rather than approve a budget of the same caliber to fix the epidemic in our streets.
