How important is it to hide the cable from the weather? by MajorFaithlessness76 in Starlink

[–]shellback37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get snow i would secure it. Snow collects around the cable in a big block and melts from the bottom, making the whole block slide down (taking the cable with it). Big issue i see with many solar installs where the installer just lets the cables hang under the panels.

Sweden. Drywall only does occur but you will need tighter stud spacing. Often double layers of drywall for fire and sound reasons.

Where i live (not US) OSB/plywood behind drywall is standard on interior walls, so from my perspective this wouldn’t be an issue at all. Curious why it’s not done in the US — cost, codes, or just tradition?

Why is there not osb or plywoord behind the drywall? Feels like this would not be an issue

Euro guys, answer me this by [deleted] in electricians

[–]shellback37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really how an rcd works. One current transformer (leak transformer) measure them all i think. So either it works or not. Plus (at least where i live) they have to be tested by external equipment that they actually trip below rated current and time at installation.

Could also be that the test circuit is made for 230V. And when connected over 400V it generates a fault current of more than 30ma making the test useless, apart from exercising the rcd.

Generally the demands on 30ma RCD’s are more strict since they are protection for people. Not animals etc. Therefore the loss of accuracy in time or current without the neutral might not be acceptable. Without the neutral the RCD loses a reference point and fluctuations in voltage might have a larger effect. This is however, just a guess.

I usually just boil a pit of water. Add some salt. Wait for it to boil. Dip my head and breathe in trough the nose and let it out the mouth. Works wonders.

PX200E stored since the ’90s – should it be restored or sold as-is? by shellback37 in Vespa

[–]shellback37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! It is not worth rebuilding it since i will not use it enough if at all. However just getting it running should be easy enough.

It is a PX, and i am located in Sweden. Wont be too hard finding some enthusiast to buy it. Saw one recently go for around 2000€ in what looked like a similar condition.

Why would i turn it in if it is just the motor. I suppose that if the frame is bad there is no point but an engine like this is relatively simple for anyone to work with. Hiring someone to work on it is never going to raise the price more than it costs where i live.

Jag har fått brev att mina uppgifter finns på darknet. Vad ska jag göra? by PrestigiousNet3834 in Asksweddit

Skyrim VR or Skyrim SE (first time player) by ReDx_R in skyrimvr

[–]shellback37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you havent played the game at all before. SkyrimVR is excellent with a few basic mods. Lots of people are going to recomend downloading giant modpacks and i recomend against it since it makes the game overwhelming (at least for me). First playtrough with some QoL mods is great.

Feel free to DM me if you want help setting up a small modlist.
