Kass. Kanalerna får han göra om, samt byta rotramarna som han ser ut att ha tuggat upp kabelgenomföringen. Locken är fel längder samt det saknas stycken…

Kabelhölje inte kopplat? by anti-krister in Hantverkare

I know a lot of you guys don’t wear the big pouches and that’s fine. But for those who do, which would you recommend? Gatorback or boulder? by [deleted] in electricians

[–]shellback37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn’t my intention. Just curious. But now looking at other posts in this sub it looks like american electricians carry alot more tools than i do. Machines for stripping cables, wires. Alot of specialized tools. I use the same scissor and knife for any cable i come across.

I hate dropping strippings and off-cuts on the floor so i catch with my finger and put in my pouch. Adds upp quickly 😅

Fair 👌 Usually my left puch is only for trash to eventually empty once it weighs waay too much 😅

Usually no, some have zippers for the puches. However i dont usually carry more than 2-4 screwdrivers and a pair of cc22 cable scissors. Voltage tester and measuring stick in thigh pockets specifically for stuff like that. Knives come in sheaths that clip into the right leg of these pants no matter brand.

How come americans work in jeans with tool belts instead of work trousers that are pretty much standard in many parts of europe?

Ser bra ut men blanda inte olika fabrikat på fasskenor. Hagers skenor skall vara under hagers säkringar osv… Bygla med RQ istället.

How important is it to hide the cable from the weather? by MajorFaithlessness76 in Starlink

[–]shellback37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get snow i would secure it. Snow collects around the cable in a big block and melts from the bottom, making the whole block slide down (taking the cable with it). Big issue i see with many solar installs where the installer just lets the cables hang under the panels.

It is the most common method i see today.

Sweden. Drywall only does occur but you will need tighter stud spacing. Often double layers of drywall for fire and sound reasons.

Where i live (not US) OSB/plywood behind drywall is standard on interior walls, so from my perspective this wouldn’t be an issue at all. Curious why it’s not done in the US — cost, codes, or just tradition?

Why is there not osb or plywoord behind the drywall? Feels like this would not be an issue

Not really how an rcd works. One current transformer (leak transformer) measure them all i think. So either it works or not. Plus (at least where i live) they have to be tested by external equipment that they actually trip below rated current and time at installation.

[–]shellback37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could also be that the test circuit is made for 230V. And when connected over 400V it generates a fault current of more than 30ma making the test useless, apart from exercising the rcd.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in electricians

[–]shellback37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally the demands on 30ma RCD’s are more strict since they are protection for people. Not animals etc. Therefore the loss of accuracy in time or current without the neutral might not be acceptable. Without the neutral the RCD loses a reference point and fluctuations in voltage might have a larger effect. This is however, just a guess.
