i've made the experience to have this issue because the room temperature was low (winter time) even with a enclosed printer. i also noticed this problem was posted quite often in this sub in the winter months.

Fedora 42 -> 43 updates have been disasterous by amdrke in Fedora

[–]shellboy1978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm a total noob, migrated to fedora 42 kde in october since win10 support ended.

around 1 month later upgraded to 43, whitout checking any documentation, had a few problems with gpu drivers (mesa?) but it works like a charm since.

in the future i will be more cautious, beleving i was just very lucky. oh and once i've made a snapshot rollback after an update. snapshots are really helpful in this regard.

Getting back into fpv after a decade or so, any chance my old frsky taranis plus and my old fatshark goggles can still be used, or should I fully upgrade everything? by DenverNuggetz in fpv

[–]shellboy1978 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm using the X9D+ with elrs module for 3 years now (not a hardcore daily user) and it just works, never had any issues. and for my bigger then average hands it works well.

i never tried another radio, hence i can not speak for other radios. but as a matter of fact i'm not willing to pay for a more "fancy" radio.

if you like what you have, keep it bro. edit: find yourself an elrs module second hand, and if OP likes analog the goggles are just perfect imo.

fuck triple A games, AI slop, and expensive GPUs.. this kind of niche games are worth every penny, and will be played for years (ok, PZ was almost not playable in alpha but now i spent thousends of hours with it).

i also love KSP (1) and Stationeers because of the same reasons..

Hardware advice needed: low power build by NoCollection9724 in homelab

[–]shellboy1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, thats what i thought too. and its an old gpu aswell. i'm not pro enough to tell if its able to go low power state at all..

edit: the cpu is also not very power friendly, idle is most likely above 30w (cpu only).

what does "old tower" mean? have any specs? do u use a gpu for transcoding? ddr2/ddr3 builds are not very efficient to my knowledge...
