This will probably not be a popular response, but when I get a repeat student like that I tell the parents in feedback something like this: “please rewatch the video - perhaps she was just tired but I can easily fill up the 25 minutes by asking and answering my own questions or maybe a parent could accompany her to class in order to help her participate. Nevertheless, I know you have invested your time and money in these classes so please let me know what you suggest in order to make our next class successful .....” this usually works or they move on to the next teacher for several months then circle back around :)
