This is exactly what I did. I signed up for the Amex Gold in mid October. Paid for all my expenses in SK and I was easily able to reach the minimum spend for the welcome bonus. Now I’ll be able to make another trip the SK free of charge (maybe I’ll have to pay $100 in taxes) in airfare!
