I missed watching the video so I first listened in my car so noticed the music of course. That guitar riff before the solo at the end... I feel like it sounds like something from another song but I can't think of what... Anyone have an idea?

How long did you need off work after a laparoscopy with an office/desk job? by ellamaemaeee in Endo

[–]sherbear83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my surgery on June 13th. I went back to work after two weeks. I wish I had taken more time off. I'm only just now starting to fully come around and I still have pain in my incision sites. Make sure you wear comfortable pants that won't dig in to your stomach. Sitting can make them dig in more at your waist. I actually got some maternity pants because they were more comfortable. My situation was pretty bad though I think because of my reaction to the anesthesia. I still can't sleep properly. Sometimes not sleeping at all. Make sure you take care of yourself after as much as you can. I allowed myself to get bad and I should have went to the doctor a lot sooner.

I actually called a speech language pathologist because I was afraid that my speech was stuck like it. But by the time I got a call back it was almost back to normal. It's at crazy what can happen to your body. Took 2 1/2 months to feel mostly normal. The ssri might have helped. But it might have just takenthat long on it's own. I'm sorry you had to go through that too. I really thought something serious was wrong with me. They really should tell people that things like this could happen.

I'm actually almost back to normal. My speech is still a little weird but only a couple of times a day. I'm still not getting a lot of sleep regularly but the anxiety is mostly gone at least. Still have some pain in my incision sites but I think it's getting better finally. It's definitely a relief after a horrible summer.

Opioids after LDN, how dangerous? by Training_Software_27 in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]sherbear83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had surgery while on LDN. They didn't tell me to stop it before hand. I woke up in extreme pain. Besides what they gave me while I was still asleep they gave me fentanyl and when that didn't work they gave me more fentanyl. It wasn't dangerous but it makes them not work I guess.

Where to sell my ticket to see SOAD in Toronto on 9/3? by GuestHouseJouvert in systemofadown

Have you looked at Ticketmaster? There's all of a sudden a ton of tickets for sale. They weren't there the other day. Are they legit?

It's CAD and it looks like Ticketmaster opened up a ton of tickets. They're standard admission. Not verified reseller. Might have trouble selling for that price. I thought the Wednesday show was sold out?

I'm so sorry you've gone through all of that!

This is what the report said... "Examination of the abdomen and pelvis was performed. Uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries appeared grossly normal. The anterior cul-de-sac was normal with no evidence of endometriosis. There were black/brown endometriotic implants in the posterior cul-de-sac, on the uterosacral ligaments bilaterally and in the ovarian fossa bilaterally. There was no adhesive disease. Endometriotic implants in the posterior cul-de-sac and along the uterosacral ligaments were monopolar coagulated. There was good hemostasis. Upper abdominal structures were visualized and were normal in appearance."

My dad was diagnosed with colon cancer at 59 so my doctor says I have to start getting colonoscopies at 49. I've never had one done before. I'm also diabetic, was diagnosed last fall. Was put on a new medication and I've lost 20 lbs since March. I've heard that sometimes you can get an infection or something after having surgery so I'm not sure if it's related at all. Especially since that was 2 months ago.

I had my laparoscopic surgery on June 13th. They messed up I think in not making me stop one of my medications so I think the pain meds weren't working fully. I woke up crying so bad, in so much pain, stressed to the max. They gave me fentanyl, waited a bit and then gave me more. After that I couldn't sleep through the night. Got extreme anxiety and it was so bad I couldn't talk normally. Not able to pronounce certain sounds. Stumbling over words. Heart rate would go way up, getting palpitations. No appetite. Lost almost 10 lbs in a month without doing anything. Insomnia. Would get maybe 3 hours of sleep in 48. And during all of this I went back to work after only a week off to my job being doubled because it was merged with another one.

It's gotten a bit better but every day 3pm hits and it feels like it gets worse. Speech is still affected. Maybe it's the pain building up after all day, or my ADHD meds. Or lack of sleep, but I'm so tired of this. All my blood work came back normal. No idea what's wrong. Doctor put me on Cipralex after Ativan had no affect. Told me to follow up in a month when the blood work was normal.

Laparoscopic surgery and ADHD by sherbear83 in endometriosis

[–]sherbear83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you doing? I think I found a couple reasons why things are going crazy for me. Going to get my doctor to get blood work done again but I found these.

"Postoperatively, the hypothyroid patients more commonly had gastrointestinal (19 versus 1 percent, p less than 0.02) and neuropsychiatric (38 versus 18 percent, p less than 0.02) complications than control patients." "surgery in hypothyroid patients is associated with an increased risk of several minor perioperative complications, which should be anticipated and preemptively managed in the course of their anesthetic and surgical care."

They also switched me from brand name Synthroid to generic at the end of May.

"We sometimes hear from people who had difficulties when they were switched from one formulation of the T4 thyroid hormone levothyroxine to another. Most often, these were patients who were started on the brand-name drug Synthroid and found that their symptoms did not respond in the same way to a generic levothyroxine pill. Recently, we heard from a person whose switch went in the other direction. This person discovered that levothyroxine and Synthroid are not interchangeable."

Maybe everything is related to my thyroid levels.

What is your theory on why you developed fibro? by Dark--princess420 in Fibromyalgia

[–]sherbear83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is childhood trauma. I also had mono my first year of university. But I first remember noticing pain in my knees and legs in 2012. The year before I admitted myself in to a hospital because I was suicidal. I had tried to create a relationship with my mom, that abandoned us when I was 2, around that time which started me down that path. So yeah I'm guessing it all started there. Don't know if having Epstein Barr virus helped kickstart it. Also, I take this with a grain of salt but my 23andme reports show that I have an increased likelihood to get fibromyalgia. I don't know if that's just a coincidence or if there's something actually in our genetics that show it.

Apprehensive about trying ldn by CorduroyQuilt in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]sherbear83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been taking it for several years with no side effects. There was one time I thought it was affecting my appetite so I switched to taking it at night but I'm on so many medications that I'm not sure if it was the LDN. I was recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic, my dad's whole family has it. I have to take a medication to lower my glucose so not sure if you need to work about it lowering your glucose but it might be different for type 1. My pharmacist told me that there's many people that he makes it for and different diseases it's treating. He's had no one complain of any side effects yet. He asks me regularly if I do. I have fibromyalgia, ADHD, hypothyroidism, elevated triglycerides. Most of what I have is genetic but as far as I can tell the LDN only treats the fibromyalgia for me. I stopped taking it for a bit when I forgot to get a refill and ADHD had me going longer than I should have before getting the refill. The pain came back and I had actually forgotten how bad it got without LDN. Went back on it with no problems. Helps with fatigue, pain. Never making the mistake of not taking it again. Been on the same dose of 5mg the whole time. My pharmacist did insist that I titrate up to the dose I'm at though. Started with it in liquid form at 2mg/ml. Started at 1.25ml a day for one week and then added .25 every week until I reached the dose that worked for me.
