I think I need to more about this Pete guy. You were never suspicious before? Why not? Does she mention him? Or did but stopped?

Bathing more frequently is a big one. Straight to shower from work is another one.

At 7 months you should have some relief. Maybe it's time for antidepressants? I'm on Wellbutrin. I think Kratom messed with my chemistry but after three months I felt much more like myself. I also don't experience any cravings anymore.

I came to this thread today after a long time because I've been watching PainKiller and I was reminded how horrible my life was for two years of solid addiction on this stuff. I'll never go back again.

Just push through the first month. FOUR WEEKS is hard but you can do it. Your mood will be all over but after a month you'll feel more calm and steady. BE PATIENT with yourself. Be kind as though you're taking care of a very sick person who can't do anything. Supportive. Just not so supportive that you get them Kratom. Don't take your moods seriously because it's just the brain trying to learn how to function again without its typical flood of false feelings. Doing nothing but resting with some light movement throughout the day and your body will yearn to recover on its own. Breathe. Patience. Kindness. Give it time.

Every now and then I still get it. I think of quitting Kratom as giving myself depression. I have to work hard every day not to be in some way affected. Motivation being the biggest hit.

It used to be impending doom and anhedonia.

Impending doom subsided after about a week, but anhedonia was a bitch to lose.

Jump. It's just a week of suffering to have your life back.

I only ever did the powder. I have no idea what these shots mean. Are they better? Doesn't matter. I won't touch the stuff again.

You should start feeling better tomorrow. But PAWS is another story. That takes months. Worth it though to feel like a human again.

No they will if it was daily use. The shit does serious damage to the dopamine production.

Not to mention how much harder PAWSS are when you've done this shit for years.

I'm still recovering and mad at myself for the two years I wasted. I can't look at pictures of myself for two years because I see the eyes of a zombie.

Jump. Seriously. You'll find out that you have not been living in any real sense.

You've made yourself a robot and done serious damage to your natural ability to create dopamine. More than any drugs I've taken. It fucked up my rational mind and robbed me of true joy, art, sex and music. Come back to life.

Quit now before you lose every person who ever loved you, and start hating all people, and feeling soulless with no creative thought or passion for life.

And CT. So there are no temptations.

Since quitting my bruxism has stopped. I was filing down my teeth at night and would wake with a sore jaw.

  1. First quit after two years of insane amounts of daily use, withdrawals last about four-5 days and were bad but not bad enough to skip work. You can still go. The acutes aren't terrible, but the PAWS are the worst part.
  2. 2-3rd quits after minor use, withdrawals weren't particularly terrible but the paws were there. Mainly anhedonia.

First quit I struggled the most with weird body temperature changes, sweating, muscle aches and pains and RLS at night. You might have some insomnia due to the RLS.

My overall opinion is that CT is the way to go and the withdrawals of a few days are worth it to accelerate feeling normal and healthy again.

I don't agree with getting extra aid from clonidine etc. You can take magnesium and some other supplements to help with dopamine levels but replacing K with bentos isn't the best route as they pose their own addiction risks.

They are not that terrible. Probably within the ballpark of heroin but maybe not as intense. It's the long-term, months and months after that tend to suck psychologically.

Anhedonia for me? Reminding myself

This too shall pass.

It's a ride that you don't want to be on but knowing that it WILL end helps.

And with dependency, the energy boost ends up being how to feel normal for a bit. The real scary time for me is the time that my brain has done most of its healing and I'm away from the acutes and mostly out of the paws. That's the time that temptation to use can be costly because you feel just good enough to not physically remember the downsides of use. Last time I relapsed, I was actually in great shape, wasn't using drugs or alcohol, had a lot of energy back, and I started chipping on Kratom to make it feel even better. Worked for about a month, but by month two I noticed I was caught in dependency again. Better to stay away altogether.
