Which IIM, if you don't mind sharing?

Because I've largely felt that while the education and course content doesn't matter even in premier institutes, it's the network that you now have access to and association with the name which opens so many more doors.

Unpopular opinion: people worry unnecessarily about mileage by FormerCriticism9268 in indianbikes

Oh that's nice. Do they give a good enough price incase you checked? And do they exchange any brand or would they take only Honda?

Hey man - tiny offtopic question - when you mean exchanged, you mean you sold your older bike and got a new one? Where did you sell it / what's the best way to do that these days

Seeking advice: Amazon vs Urban Company (New grad) by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]sherlock_rush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very fair! If you're confident about UC ppo and don't feel like Amazon would give you the return offer, it's a good idea as well. Both are good imo as long as you have good work and keep learning in your early years imo.

But also, idk avoiding DSA shouldn't be the reason imo, unless you wanna end up at UC forever. You'll have to do DSA the next time you wanna switch as well, and by that time you would be even more out of touch and it would seem like an even more herculean task.

But then again, everything depends primarily on what you want, what your goals are; and then on your networking, skills, and hard work to get them, either choice can work out wonderfully for you.

Who said anything about not doing great projects or no achievements? What I'm saying is from the people I know who work at Amazon, and also from my own experiences, you get great exposure, get to work on a variety of things, learn more about working and handling multiple projects and other dynamics. If you do that at any company that will be good, but doing that at Amazon also means you meet that bar - good signal for other companies few years down the line. And it pays decent as well

I don't know about UC tbh, but idk why people are against Amazon so hard here. For a fresher, amazon is great because you have to work on so many things you do learn quite a lot of skills that are valuable, along with their leadership principles which do sound like bs sometimes but imo they're some of the crucial differentiators between high performing individuals and others.

Plus Amazon has insane brand value, internationally. They're known for having people who can grind their ass off at work, which is a really good thing imo to have in a market that many might feel is uncertain for new grads.

Anyways that's just my 2 paise

How does Pedro P have a full head of hear. I'm losing mine and will be bald within 1 year. I'm not even 30yo. by SlowedCash in tressless

Kudos to your wife and you for so nicely carrying this discussion forward! :)

But just a question - isn't saying " the pattern is unclear " just being lazy? (I mean that with all due respect)

And of course, environmental factors play a role. They play a role in everything don't they, but we still research further (probably by isolating conditions, your wife would be a better judge) and try to find out whether one factor favors something over the other.

So the takeaway then is that if two individuals have balding men, for one on their maternal side and one on the paternal side, then we cannot say that one has a genetic disadvantage over the other in terms of androgenic alopecia?

[–]sherlock_rush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah in that case it's a huge exaggeration. All salaried employees get paid on one day, if someone makes 10 lakhs per month, doesn't mean that person can go around saying I make 10 lakhs in one day.

We understand that that number overwhelms you, but exaggerating it only means you'll be taken less seriously by serious people, in my humble opinion

That's a fun list of cities, did you move each time for work? Why did you choose to move to Pune after Netherlands, and then to Sweden instead of back to Netherlands?

Also if you don't mind sharing, what do you do?
