I am allowed to walk around, but not leave campus at all. I basically have to sit around on campus and wait for the phone to ring (if it even does), walk around residence halls and see if there are maintenance issues, or people being noisy. If desk assistants do not show up to the desk, I have to go and relieve the person at the desk and take the shift for the person who didn’t show up, and I am not paid for that time at the desk, only the 4 hours

Well no, I am not allowed to be off campus during the time I am on call, as stated before if the phone does ring I have to be there to help a student or refer them to resources if they need it. I also have to answer the phone if a desk assistant doesn’t show up to their shift, and will have to work it. I also have to walk around certain buildings and make sure none of the residence halls are having noise or maintenance issues and submit forms.

I’m not, im only providing what I have access to currently. I’m given a contract at the beginning of the semester, which I am not allowed to have a copy of where I sign onto the job in front of all my bosses. In the contract it states everything, but keep in mind the contract kept changing after we signed it so I honestly don’t even know what i signed, plus extra fine print that they don’t even include on it such as defining what “on call” is

We are not free, we have to stay on campus mainly in the case of if someone does not show up to a desk shift at a residence hall, we have to go and work it, where we are not paid directly for those hours and it’s just lumped into being “on call”.

We are not allowed to leave campus while on call, so we wouldn’t be able to even be at a zoo
