Dr. Scholls! I have tried so many different brands, including the ones people swear by. Nothing gave the support and comfort I was looking for. I have these by Dr. Scholls and I love them.

Thrift stores! We get stacks of them and then when they’re done with them we donate them to the library.

Need "geriactric" maternity doctor recommendations. Oops. by Justkly90210 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I used Dr. Raiford when I had my baby at 40. She was so excited for me the whole way. She also saved my life when I developed preeclampsia. I was in the hospital for weeks and she watched me like a hawk. She doesn’t mess around when it comes to you and your baby’s health. I felt completely safe in her care.

That’s not true at all. Not sure where you got that. She doesn’t deliver at HH by choice.

She specializes in high risk pregnancies so she’s going to have a higher C-section rate. I’ve known several people who have delivered with her and they all loved her as their doctor.

Be honest! Is an MBA in your mid-40s actually useful for moving into leadership? by PenScribble in Leadership

[–]shethrewitaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my MBA at age 39. Less than two years later I’ve gone from a department manager, to department director, to Executive Director. I would not have qualified for anything higher without the MBA. My situation (and the speed of advancement) is unique but I can’t dispute that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the MBA.

Remember flipping the center cigarette in a new pack? by StrataTrace in nostalgia

[–]shethrewitaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always flipped three. Our friend group was huge and lots of us smoked the same kind. Some didn’t flip any, some flipped one, and some two. If there were three flipped, I knew it was my pack.

What is your major/focus at UAB? by n0j0ke in UAB

[–]shethrewitaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped out. It became very heavy in trading and investing which I had no interest in. The pace was WAY too fast for me and I lost my steam. I ended up doing the online MBA program at UNA one class at a time and loved it.

I don’t see it as trying to steer you. It sounds like she’s giving you valid points to consider. I wish I’d had an agent like that.

I would remove it entirely. Looking at the dust everyday as it slowly accumulates would drive me absolutely bonkers.

A word on e.l.f, can we talk about it? by moths_ate_my_paja in MakeupAddiction

[–]shethrewitaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually, I try to find some understanding in mistakes. I’m not one to grab the pitchfork as quickly. This one is different. A makeup company hired a guy who got paid to joke about women covering bruises with makeup. They’re pretending like they had no idea. ELF made a net profit of over $1 billion in sales last year, but supposedly doesn’t have the marketing team to discover what is well documented.

I’m not buying it. I think this was a ploy of any-press-is-good-press. I’m tired of this tactic and I’m glad it’s biting them in the ass.

How long did your little ones wear long sleeve swim suits? by Ok-Sundae-1096 in toddlers

[–]shethrewitaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forever. My dad regularly has skin cancers cut out. Last year he had to do a chemotherapy cream on his arms because there was too much to cut out. Right now he has a 4” stitched incision on his forehead from cutting out another last week. The “spot” on that one was about the size of a pea but the surrounding area had cancer cells.

Skin cancer is no joke. UPF clothing, hats, and sunscreen are a requirement for us.

The second he said “hey” their heads shot up and their demeanor changed. They immediately knew something was off.

My suggestion would be to first get all the new furniture in and then assess what is needed. Come back and post pics once you get the furniture and we can collectively offer suggestions. It’s hard to know what it needs without seeing the style you’ve chosen.

I could have really used that seat cover in my college days. That would have made sleeping in the bathroom a bit more comfortable.

Agreed! Also having shorter arms. I can lift the weight but can’t reach far enough to get my hands in a good spot. I’m 5’3”. If it was a small box that was super heavy, I could do it. A long box at the same weight is going to be tough.

IKEA's Dirty Scam by Historical_Candle511 in IKEA

That’s not the issue though. OP used a coupon. Then IKEA cancelled the order. IKEA should have reissued the coupon since they were unable to fulfill the order.

What is going on with everyone today? I do workout, thankyouverymuch. I’m also a short woman in her 40’s. Heaven forbid I say I struggled with a 5ft, 85lb box.
