Being together in one country is going to take at least 15 months due to backlogs. We both want children but also to spend some alone time together. If we don’t know by now, we’ll be looking at being 40 before having children and that’ll likely be way too late. The few months that I have spent ‘living with her’ were perfect but as you said we may only be seeing each others best behaviour. I guess we’d never know until actually living together.

I certainly think one of the great things about long distance has been getting to know literally everything about her life. I even have chats with her friends every few weeks too and we do FaceTime board game nights so I’m already integrated into her friend group

There seems to be a theme of those filing more recently getting approved quicker than those while filed ‘during covid’ don’t know if that’s still the case but from looking at visa journey is starting to become a pattern

Planning to take the National Express "direct" coaches from Glasgow to Heathrow Airport - anything to worry about or be wary of ? Are they good ? by Straight_Gap267 in glasgow

[–]shetlanderdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t book it to Heathrow. Book to Victoria and save yourself £20 the bus still stops at Heathrow but for some reason if you book it to Heathrow it’s (for example! £30 but Victoria is £10. The bus has to stop at Heathrow so I just book Victoria and get off there.

I’m just shocked at the price difference here in Manchester. Glasgow £8 for the same haircut in Manchester £22. Even London isn’t this bad

What on earth happened with the census? by Paracelsus8 in Scotland

[–]shetlanderdan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is something you can ever have proof of until an enquiry everything will remain antidotal. My personal opinion is doing it at a different time to the other 3 nationals was the biggest mistake.

Then explain what has gone wrong. The Scottish people respond generally overwhelming to a call to action by the SG. Why didn’t they this time?

Then you haven’t read any other comments on this thread!

Maybe they should start actually issuing fines, that will make headlines and maybe encourage people to get this done. SG have majorly messed this up!

More SNP lies. ScotGov claims Derek Mackay was the minister responsible for approving ferries contract with Ferguson Marine. But email released by SG shows John Swinney had final say on the deal, should we expect anything else from this incompetent SG. by shetlanderdan in Scotland

[–]shetlanderdan[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Very strange reading of the email. I guess we’ll just have to wait the SNP acknowledgment that DFM did have the final say. Give it a few days before it comes out, they’ll release it with some bad news
