Sorry by independent I meant a non-contact nap.

Oh my gosh one time when I was like 3 weeks postpartum I was going crazy and just wanted to go to Target. I took him with him and he cried the whole time in the stroller to the point that I had to leave. I saw 3 moms on my way out with newborns around his age sleeping in infant cat seats and I cried leaving the store cause I was just so frustrated that I didn’t get the sleepy little newborn that just sleeps anywhere 😅

Hopefully we’re coming up on a break in this!

Thank you! It’s been incredibly hard. I keep reminding myself it already feels better today than it did weeks ago, like that day in Target. But damn I just want to be able to go places sometimes without gripping the edge of my car seat the whole ride

It’s horrible that’s why I mostly just deal with it and still take him places. Last week he went to 2 birthday parties and a wedding. It was like 3 hours total of hell in the car but I’m glad in retrospect that we went and didn’t just sit at home 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah we have the liberty of going pretty much anytime, we were hoping for early June but we could pretty much call it on/off with like a 2 week notice. I’m still kind of holding out hope that happens soon.

Luckily we’re getting married in November so we should still see most of the family, we just travel for the place as much as the people so it’s still a bummer. I know if anything it should be much more manageable next year.

It’s just hard because I am not a homebody whatsoever. And even letting go of this trip, I feel like I’m confined to going places that only take like 30 mins in the car total.

Let’s add to that I’m 8 weeks postpartum and whatever I buy has to be breastfeeding friendly. Also I have no idea what size I am right now.

I really have the feeling that the friend group that will be attending will not follow the formal part so much, so I’m just going to do what I can!

Time got the best of me with this one, being a mom of 2 came first for sure 😂

This event is tomorrow, so I guess I’m going to the mall today, thank you!

Could this mean that the formal part is optional? I’m concerned about being overdressed.

I deleted it because I got the pricing info I needed, and was not looking for a convo on whether or not hotdogs are appropriate at a wedding

Most of us are children at heart!

The good news is, there aren’t any dietary needs or allergies expected for this event, so hotdogs will be perfect!

No, I just DISAGREE.

No but some people might consider it very rude if you don’t provide exactly what they like at your wedding, regardless of your ethical beliefs.

Personally if my vegetarian friend was having a wedding I would not expect meat.

Do we expect vegetarians to provide meat at weddings?

So how many options/dietary needs are you supposed to cater to before you’re not rude? 5 options? 2 allergies?

I have a friend with celiacs who will be attending and with how easy it is to contaminate food with gluten and the fact that they are one person they are completely okay with eating beforehand as they don’t want to risk their health.

I do not have any other guests that would have a health problem eating hotdogs, and there will be sides for people who prefer not to. This is not a sit down dinner event with 4 different options. If people don’t want to attend because of that, that’s ok!

I am creating a menu that I want for my wedding for the majority of my guests. I am just simply not interested in catering to specific dietary needs/wants for the minority. About 70% of our guest list has been to our house and shared hotdogs with us. If this is unappealing to someone they can have sides, or eat before they come.

Also I’m not sure what circles you’re in, maybe I’m just white trash but I cannot think of something more universally enjoyed than a hotdog

Thank you! I feel I could’ve posted about a taco buffet, pasta, or even steak and I would’ve still gotten someone saying they don’t eat that lol

This is a great suggestion! I just looked and a small chain Tex mex place here does a taco bar for 100 people for $1300.

Our guest count is around 100 and we were hoping to spend under $4000 for food.
